My May Birchbox

This month's Birchbox theme was Low Effort, High Impact. "Longer days are upon us, which means more time to enjoy those fun moments we look forward to all year - and less cause for primping. Streamline your routine with effortless products that deliver big results." Here's what was inside:

I like that these come in little travel packets. "Cleanse skin, clear up acne and blackheads, penetrate and clear out pores, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles with these powerful pads. Each pad contains maximum strength 2% Salicylic Acid and potent 10% Glycolic Acid Complex in an advanced botanical formulation to cleanse the skin, clear up active acne, minimize pore size, and eliminate the formation of new blackheads and breakouts. Double-sided pads deliver gentle cleansing action on one side and superior exfoliation on the textured side. Formulated with a fresh peach bellini scent instead of a traditional antiseptic scent." These are definitely powerful so would recommend allowing a few days in between.

A "weightless, multitasking best friend for radiant-looking skin and makeup all day long. The silky smooth formula shields your skin with our signature Plant Protection® and mineral broad spectrum SPF 30, while a bouquet of Honeysuckle, White Lily and Iris Stem Cells instantly enhances overall skin quality. The lightweight texture offers a photo-reflective appearance to blur fine lines, even out skin tone and minimize pores to create a smooth finish." I actually finished a sample of this recently from Sephora's Sun Safety Kit and really liked it so was glad I got another sample of this. No more combining sunscreen with primer for an extra step in my beauty routine.

"This amazingly decadent body cream will leave your skin smoother and softer while clinically proven ingredients banish the appearance of unwanted blemishes. Skin will appear, toned, firmed, and perfected." I've received several Whish products in my Birchboxes before and haven't really loved them. This body cream is on the lightweight side but is better than past body lotions from this brand. I don't think it's worth $36 though.

This was my sample selection this month. It promises to deliver a blow out style in the shower. "An innovative styler that is applied in the shower and lightly rinsed, leaving behind only what you need to create beautiful air-dried styles. It features our Thickening Molecule (PBAE) and lightweight conditioners which deliver." What girl wouldn't love that?! I only wash my hair weekly so will have to report back on this one.

Decided to throw on the lipstick too

Another repeat brand is The Beauty Crop. I received their tinted lip product in last month's box. "With one sweep of the wand, Fabulous Flocking Lashes Mascara coats every single lash from root to tip with it's gentle, smudge and clump-free formula effortlessly. Nourished with Argan Oil & Jojoba to condition, separate, plump and lengthen lashes." Love the name and that it's cruelty free. But wasn't too impressed with the mascara. It's more of a natural look whereas I prefer dramatic lashes.

What did you receive in your Birchbox this month?
