My May Beauty Product Favorites (And Not So Favorite)

This month we were finally blessed with some warm days allowing me to spruce up my beauty routine. The stress was starting to take it's toll and I needed some heavy duty products to refresh my skin. And my monthly boxes introduced me to some new favorites and not so favorite. Let's start with the good, shall we?

May Beauty Favorites
Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting Liquid $29 - Received this in my April Birchbox. I was going through a bad breakout and this definitely helped ease the hormonal imbalance. Definitely use sparingly since the salicylic acid can dry out your skin.

Clinique Smart Night™ Custom-Repair Moisturizer $57 - "Our smart nighttime moisturizer immediately plumps skin 75%. Works all night to visibly smooth lines and wrinkles, even skin tone and lift. Smart hydration technology helps skin attract and retain moisture. Oil-free." There are three options for different skin types. I chose Very Dry to Dry and have been enjoying it. It is heavy enough to keep you moisturized all night but not oily to clog pores.

May Not So Favorite Beauty Products
The Beauty Crop Fabulous Flocking Lashes Mascara $19.90 - Received this mascara in my Birchbox this month. Was excited since it was vegan friendly; however, it slowly went downhill. First impressions were not bad although it does more separating than volume. But it has now dried up and flakes on my lashes.

Number 4 Sugar Texturizing Spray $22 - Received this in my April Birchbox but finally got around to giving it a try this month. It supposedly adds soft, touchable waves to your hair but better than salt. However, I was not super impressed and wouldn't say "touchable." I didn't say a better benefit of this to sea salt spray. Maybe I'll try another sugar spray.

What products did you enjoy this month?
