My April Birchbox

This month's Birchbox is Magic Inside with the design of the box being on the inside, cute idea. "Pretty beauty packaging might have us at hello, but in the long run it's what's on the inside that matters the most. With smart features and dynamic ingredients - from brightening Vitamin C to purifying charcoal - there's a ton of magic inside this box (so you feel your best on the outside)." Here's what I received:

Number 4 Sugar Texturizing Spray (1 fl oz/4.9 fl oz $22) | Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant (1 fl oz/4 oz $29) | Ursa Major Fortifying Face Balm (.2 oz/2.5 oz $36) | This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray (.17 fl oz/2.5 fl oz $29) | The Beauty Crop #GRLPWR Matte Liquid Lipstick in Imma Bawse (.07 oz/.14 fl oz $14.95)

"Sugar Texturizing Spray denounces salt while heralding sugar in a declaration of sweet love for hair texture that is perfectly undone. Transform limp, lackluster strands into loose, touchably soft, “beach inspired” waves with a nourishing blend of sugar and flexible styling aids. This spray aids in style defense against humidity to help build a long-lasting relationship with texture that’s more than just a summer fling. It achieves hair texture through simple sugar cane molecules and flexible styling aids producing a lattice of soft structure and haphazard patterns of loose, shiny waves. Flex net resins help keep glossy texture intact despite unfavorable conditions of heat and humidity, while anti-static properties provide extra nourishment." I was curious about sugar vs salt. Although I'm overloaded on sea salt spray lol. I'll post a review once I get to beach wave cravings.

"This unique, non-abrasive, leave-on liquid exfoliant for daily use on all skin types. It is our #1-selling exfoliant around the world. It not only gently and evenly remove built-up layers of dead skin, but also increases hydration, skin smoothness, and radiance in ways you never thought possible. This exfoliant has an optimal pH range of 3.2–3.8 and is formulated with additional soothing agents for enhanced benefits." Never tried a liquid exfoliant before so was curious. It has a sting to it so I'd use it intermittently versus every day of the week. You use it after toner for when you want to get that extra, deeper clean. It is probably better for people with acne prone/oily skin where I'm not necessarily experiencing a breakout right now.

"An intensely pigmented liquid lipstick that is life-proof with serious staying power! Apply our creamy lipstick to lips and allow the formula to set to a long-wearing matte look, delivering rich uncompromising color. Our formula is enriched with Shea Butter and Vitamin E provides you with comfortable wear for hours, that doesn’t cake, flake or dry out." Love the name of this liquid lipstick! It's very pigmented so at first application it is a dark cherry color but if you apply a light layer then it's a more flattering red shade. It's not as drying as stila's lipstick and definitely lasts throughout eating.

"Lightweight moisturizer with robust anti-aging properties to keep skin looking younger, longer. Provides deep hydration, strong calming & antiseptic properties help soothe skin, and potent anti-ager (increases firmness and elasticity)." I wasn't a big fan of the smell but it's overall soothing to the skin. Stay tuned for my beauty empties review!

My customized sample was the Sleep spray because I've been curious about these natural ointment/spray that help with sleeping. I have to say the 3 nights I tried, I did dose off quite nicely... granted I was super tired lol It's a very hard middle-school science experiment to know if it works. Have to have the same set of circumstances but I think it's a good option to try and it has lavender which I'm always a fan of.

What did you receive in your Birchbox this month?
