My April Beauty Product Favorites (And Not So Favorite)

Another month, another round up. Spring is finally sticking around here in New York so it's time to switch up the beauty routine. Swap out the heavy moisturizers for some lightweight sun protection. I also had patiently sat on my hands to not order anything from Sephora but decided to treat myself to a little haul that will help me achieve the unicorn trend. Here's what I loved and not so much loved this month:

Becca Cosmetics Shimmering Skin Perfector® Pressed Highlighter Prismatic Amethyst $38 - I just simply ordered this because it's so beautiful and it was worth it! Photos really can't capture it but it's the most highlighting glow I've used. It's limited edition so if you want a unicorn glow then I'd recommend it.

Julep Boost Your Radiance Reparative Rosehip Seed Facial Oil $36 - "A reparative “wonder booster” that leaves all skin types radiant and hydrated. Rosehip Seed Oil hydrates and reduces the appearance of fine lines, scars, and hyper-pigmentation as it regulates oil production." I got this in my January Julep Maven box but finally worked it into my routine this month. It definitely helped my skin stay fresh looking. But one downside I'd warn of is that it would clog my pores from time to time if I used it too many days in a row. So if your skin is prone to getting clogged then I'd let it breathe.

Burt's Bees Eye Makeup Remover Pads $5.99 - "Formulated with Kiwi Extract, the 99.5% natural formula is clinically shown to gently but effectively remove all eye makeup, including waterproof and smudge-proof formulas. The convenient, hexagon-shaped, pre-soaked pads are specifically designed to gently navigate corners of the eye area, without rinsing, residue or irritation." I've had some mixed experiences with Burt's Bees but really love these eye makeup remover pads as they're super gentle on my sensitive eyes while doing a good job of removing makeup.

Not so Favorite April Beauty Products
AVEENO® Absolutely Ageless™ Daily Moisturizer with Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 30 $17 - I tried a sample and it was not bad so purchased a full-size bottle but then was highly disappointed. It smelled like cigarettes (or that awful smoke smell) and then when I applied makeup it would pill up. Not sure what happened there but it's on the pricey end for drugstore. Very disappointing.

Nivea A Kiss of Cherry Flavor Tinted Lip Care $2.99 - I'm a fan of the mint flavor but the cherry one seems to dry out my lips. Hard pass.
