January 1, 2017

2016 started off so optimistic but went quickly downhill with the death of Bowie 2 weeks in and continued with the loss of many icons including Prince, George Michael and ended on the tragic note with the back-to-back deaths of Carrie Fisher and her mom, Debbie Reynolds just last week. Plus the election (which I will not get into) sucking the life out of everything and consuming all our media's attention. I also suffered the personal loss of my close aunt Mary Jane in November after her very long battle with cancer.

ONE highlight of 2016 was taking my first trip to Europe with my bucket list trip to Paris and London.

For 2017 I have two goals - take better care of my mental health and laugh more. I've already started working on both at the end of 2016. After the death of my aunt I took a week off from work and in that short time I realized I was not taking care of myself mentally and draining myself with stress at work. I also started attending more comedy shows to get some laughs and have been enjoying them so looking forward to attending more. Already purchased tickets to the Patrice O'Neal Benefit with a killer line-up including Leslie Jones and Bill Burr who I've been wanting to see live for awhile. I would also like to take a trip this year since I haven't traveled since my trip to Paris & London.

So... here's to hoping 2017 is not fucked up. Close the chapter of 2016 and opening a fresh, new one with 2017.

What are you looking forward to in 2017?
