My September Birchbox

This month's Birchbox theme was Fresh Fun. "Now that fall is around the corner, we're jumping into multitasking mode - and celebrating the versatile, time-saving products that help us juggle everything on our to-do lists. 'Cause at the end of the day, beauty should make our lives easier (and add a dash of fun)." Here's what I received:

Described as "addictive and whimsical, this gourmand fragrance, with a curious blend of vanilla, cocoa and chocolate, will satisfy your sweet tooth!  With your first whiff this mouth-watering caramel, chocolate and vanilla you will be immediately intoxicated." Definitely smells wonderful and like you'd want to eat it. Wish the staying power was longer but a nice little roll-on to toss in your purse to freshen up.

Birchbox is on a Oribe roll! Moving away from hair products to to body wash. "Luxuriate in the lather of this restorative cleanser infused with our signature Côte d’Azur fragrance. The pearlescent wash gently cleanses skin while adding silky softness." Both were nice and luxurious but wouldn't delve out $50 for them.

I love Davines shampoos & conditioners so was excited to see more samples in my box. "Cartucciaru Melon from Paceco gives lengthy hydration. Conditioning agents - softening action; Mixture of mild surfactants - to clean the hair without making it heavy." I unfortunately felt like this weighed down my hair. Maybe in the winter when my hair needs more moisture it will help. I'll try it again in a few months.

"Immediately improve the appearance of your skin using this gentle yet effective multi-award-winning Microdermabrasion Scrub. This formula uses an exclusive crystal blend including Dead Sea Salt and Volcanic Sand (rich in Silica) to buff away dull surface cells, help diminish the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and acne scars, and absorb excess skin oils. Enriched with natural astringents Lime and Lemon Peel plus antioxidants Grapeseed and Vitamin E, this pro-grade treatment retexturizes skin, leaving it soft, smooth and younger-looking." I've tried a few derma e samples before and liked them.

The Body Shop has really been stepping up their beauty game. "This innovative concentrate helps to enhance skin condition, leaving it looking smoother, fresher, and healthier. Taking its technology from plant stem cells from Criste Marine and Beech Bud extract, Drops of Youth Concentrate works to help boost surface skin cell renewal." It is paraben & sulfate free, made with 99% all natural ingredients and vegan! First impressions are good but I've only used it twice so I'll report back when I finish the tiny sample.

I have not been overly impressed with the few Milk products I've tried. This mascara looked quite interesting. "Our creamy mascara is made with a signature blend of ubame oak charcoal and sapphire dust for added dimension and color depth. Triple ball brush hits lashes at three separate points for ultra high volume." Still not sold on the brush but when I layered it with my lengthening mascara I enjoyed the results. It did flake at the end of the day for me though.

What did you receive in your Birchbox this month?
