This month's Julep Maven theme was Into the Sea. "There’s just something about summertime that gets us in the mood to pay homage to the sea and its never-ending enchantment. The July Collection was inspired by the eternal allure of deep summer – lush, saturated nail colors that are far from your average, plus our latest lip essential: Lip Shade Sheer Lip Butter with SPF 30." I selected the Bombshell box. Here's what was inside:
I was excited about the lip shades that I had to limit myself to one to see how they were before investing in other shades. Julep says "A luxuriously silky lip butter that glides on weightlessly to deliver a sheer wash of color plus the ultimate SPF 30 Broad Spectrum protection from harmful UVA/UVB rays." I guess I should have expected from the name that it would be sheer. I prefer highly pigmented shades so I think the packaging reminded me of a lipstick and therefore I thought I'd get more than just a balm tint. It's really gorgeous packaging and I like the smoothness so I'll keep it at my desk for a pop of color but it's not as pigmented as I'd prefer nor do I think I'll buy more.
I already received this highlighting powder and found it too dark so I passed it along. Think I'll be doing that again.
I've been waiting for these to come back in stock ever since I ran out. Looks like some new packaging.
Tomi is described as a "Bermuda blue holographic jelly." It went with the mermaid vibe of the box but not a blue I'm a fan of.
Another polish I got was Mickey - a pink geranium ghost iridescent. Actually like this color but it looks similar to a few others I already have.
