My June Julep Maven Box

This month's Julep Maven box theme was Midsummer Light. "With June comes the promise of summer; days are longer and warmer, and our thoughts are all about bright colors, beach bonfires, and finding the perfect mani to coordinate with the swimsuit we bought two months too early. The June Collection has got that summer beauty on lockdown with vivid pastels for your fingers and toes, plus some seriously stepped up shades of Skip the Brush for your contouring, highlighting, and bronzing needs." I got the Classic With a Twist box and added on a few items. Here's what was inside:

- 2 polishes $14/each
- Extra: Wafer candy
- Add-ons: Adrian, Blank Canvas Mattifying Eye Primer, Blush Brush

Julep is jumping on the contour bandwagon and creating their blush sticks in "contouring" shades. I opted for the sheer glow since I don't do a lot of contouring and the other shades seemed really dark. But I have to say I don't think this stick really showed up on me. The packaging reminded me of Clinique's chubby stick but I have to say I think that one shined more on my skin.

I added on the eye primer as I've seen some good reviews and my Maybelline one wasn't working out. It is a nude-ish color and is on the thicker side. You could wear it solo but I paired it with my Julep shadow stick. I was pretty impressed! Don't mind that I'm at work for 12 hours but I would say a fair share still stayed on my lids.

I don't typically buy yellow polishes but my old one dried up and I like to use it with summer nail art so I picked up Adrian - a daffodil crème.

Matilda is dubbed Pantone's Serenity and fits in with my blue cravings this spring/summer.

Luella was the Rose Quartz color of Pantone's Colors of the Year for 2016. It's pretty but I feel like I have a lot of these... #nailpolishaddictproblems.

What did you receive in your Julep Maven box this month?
