My Sephora Haul + Reviews

Sephora Beauty Haul & Reviews
We all know Sephora is dangerous for our wallets so I've been keeping a wish list of products I wanted to try from Sephora for when I had some extra dollars lying around. Last week when pay day came around I was ready to spend that money! Here's what I picked up and some first impressions:

Erborian Solid Cleansing Oil $39 - I had run out of my beloved DHC Cleansing Oil and this solid cleansing oil (which sounds like any oxymoron to me) is being hyped up in the beauty blogging world so I took a chance and purchased it. "Based on the Korean double cleansing method, Solid Cleansing Oil combines the performance of a cleansing oil with the gentleness of a cream. The base is made of coconut and sunflower oil and it's enriched with seven Korean herbs—green tea, licorice, Japanese knotweed, skullcap, rosemary, chamomile, and centella Asiatica—that have long been used in traditional Korean beauty rituals. First, it transforms into an oil upon contact with the warmth of the skin to help dissolve impurities on the face, then when rinsed with water, it transforms again into a silky lotion to cleanse skin perfectly and leave behind a protective film." First impressions are good but not the greatest. I used a makeup wipe after using to see how much was still on my skin and I'd say it wasn't as clean as I had hoped. I'll keep playing around to see if I can find the perfect consistency since this my first time using a solid cleansing oil.

Clinique Rinse-Off Foaming Cleanser $20 - I've tried a few samples of this and really liked it so when I ran out of my simple foaming cleanser I knew I wanted stock up on this Clinique one. I like foaming cleansers for the morning to get the dirt and grime that may have built up overnight and I feel like this one does a good job compared to simple's. It also doesn't irritate my sensitive skin.

Supergoop! Defense Refresh Setting Mist SPF 50 $12 - All the Supergoop! products I've sampled in my Birchboxes have impressed me so I was curious to try this setting spray since it has SPF and we all need that so why not a 2-for-1? This "unique three-in-one weightless mist that sets make-up, helps control oil & shine and refreshes your defense against photoaging UV rays. Antioxidant-rich rosemary and mint to help improve skin’s complexion and deliver an invigorating" boost to your skin. So far not super impressed with this. Spraying SPF on your face can irritate your eyes I've found. It hasn't made my makeup last longer and I feel like the spray is a bit strong, it doesn't create a nice even layer. So I may just use this UNDER my makeup as an addition to my SPF lotion for extra sun protection.

As you can see I've been suffering with hormonal acne so I would've liked more coverage

Josie Maran Vibrancy Argan Oil Foundation Fluid Foundation - This was my VIB add-on. I selected Dynamic RG5 as it appeared to be the palest shade. It was actually a little too pale so I mixed it in with another "tanner" BB cream. The claims sound really fancy so I'll say it's basically a lightweight foundation verging on a tinted moisturizer. I didn't notice I could build up the foundation and definitely didn't get a lot of coverage. I liked the smoothness and lightweight of the formula but wouldn't spend $45 on a full-sized bottle.

Top: No products / Middle: Boy Brow only / Bottom: Boy Brow + Powder

Not Sephora related but I also picked up Glossier's Boy Brow which has also been mega-hyped in the beauty blogging world. I saw some beauty bloggers using it on Snapchat and was impressed with their looks so decided to drop some dollahs. I was a little worried that there was only one brown option and it might not match my dark brown hair color but it was decent enough. I also added in my brow powder like I usually do with my standard brow mousse anyways. So far I'm really enjoying this! I will say that it takes a minute for the shade to adjust so you can apply a thin layer and leave alone before needing to know if you need to apply more to make it darker.

They also included a sample of their Priming Moisturizer in my order. I really liked the formula as you can build it up; however, I didn't notice a lot of staying power with it so not sure if I'd fully commit to it as a primer. But as a moisturizer it's super great.

Have you tried these products before? What are your thoughts?
