This month Mother Nature finally blessed us with some warm days allowing me to spruce up my beauty routine. The long work days were starting to take it's toll and I needed some heavy duty products to refresh my skin. And my monthly boxes introduced me to some new favorites. Let's start with the good, shall we?
Julep Length Matters Mascara $24 - Received this in my Julep Maven box this month and got so many compliments when I wore this. I love to layer mascaras: start with a lengthening one and top off with a volumizing one.
One Love Organics® Gardenia + Tea Antioxidant Body Serum $39 - I received this in the Birchbox Naturals box, which I loved because I got to try some new vegan-friendly, organic brands. One Love I've tried before and love their serum for the wintertime but an antioxidant serum sounded perfect for the summer. Been really enjoying the lightweight aspect as it easily absorbs into skin so I can layer on top my lotion quickly. My skin has also been not losing moisture as quickly.
Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask $58 - Another product I received in my Birchbox Naturals box. I can see why this is award-winning! "This beta-hydroxy treatment works like a traditional peel to provide an instant solution for dull skin – without causing downtime or irritation. Delivers instant glow, minimizes the appearance of pores and improves texture for smooth, glowing skin. Formulated to deeply purify and help decongest surface debris and dead skin for a refreshed, instantly revitalized appearance. Pomegranate Enzymes provide deep cleansing and pore minimization. French Pink Clay reduces the appearance of pores and helps detoxify skin. White Willow eliminates dead skin cells and promotes cellular renewal." It does everything it promises - yes! With one use my skin was refreshed and rejuvenated without an over harsh treatment. I only got a small sample so I'm trying to use every bit of it.
NYC New York Color Smooth Finish Foundation $3.50 - I've been curious about this line as it is so inexpensive. I was fairly impressed with this foundation! It created a nice matte finish that I liked and the staying power was better than more high-end foundations. There's not a lot of shade options right now but if you're fair skin like me then try Regular Beige.
e.l.f. High Definition Undereye Setting Powder $3 - Continuing on the cheap-o makeup product trends. I reviewed this in March and probably should have included it in my April favorites lol but I'm about to run out of it and it reminded me of how precious it was.
Maybelline Master Prime™ Long-Lasting Shadow Base in Prime + Illuminate $9.99 - I picked this up in a beauty haul in January; however, have finally started to integrate it into my daily beauty routine until I noticed this month it had begun drying up on me. I kept it sealed so it shouldn't be dried out. Very disappointing. But it never really helped make my makeup last longer. I simply used it as a light base color on my lids.
Juice Beauty Hydrating Mist $22 - I've tried a few Juice Beauty products and have loved all of them. Unfortunately I found myself not a fan of the smell of this mist and it irritated my eyes so kept having to be extra careful where I went when I sprayed my face (yes, I kept my eyes closed). Nothing beats my Liz Earle Skin Tonic.
