My March Beauty Product Favorites (And Not So Favorite)

Although Spring officially kicked off and tourists are flooding the New York City streets during their spring breaks, we are not feeling the spring weather. We get teased with 70 degrees here and there but for the most part it is still in the 40s. So my beauty routine has to maintain heavy duty products. Here's what I loved and didn't love using this month:

Some Thoughts on Swear Words

For as long as I can remember I've been in trouble for swearing. I could never understand it. In my mind there were far worse words to use in the English language than four letter ones. Fat, ugly, midget, and other words I don't even like to use. But fuck? Fuck is fun. Kids these days use abbreviations - FML, WTF, or af to describe their avocado toast on Instagram. Hell! I just gave my sister a birthday card that had bitch in it and she loved it.

Weekend Recap: Jersey Easter

Yesterday I took the train down to Jersey to celebrate Easter at my Aunt's house in the true Jersey tradition - overeating! She kindly baked me a separate vegan feast comprised of chickpea cutlets (which I need to make myself!), sweet potatoes with marshmallows (my favorite) and vegan chocolate cupcakes (deadly!). I was sent home with plenty of leftovers so I'll be well fed all week. My immediate family is all in California right now where my brother sent me this picture of Liam in bunny ears looking extra sassy.

e.l.f. Cosmetics Beauty Haul Reviews

e.l.f. Haul Reviews
One last haul! e.l.f. was having a deal for free shipping + bonus gift so I decided to take advantage. I haven't shopped at e.l.f. in a hot minute because for $1 products it's hard to justify $7 in shipping but I needed a few items so I opened my wallet. It's hard to feel too guilty when products are under $10 but that means there can be some misses. Here are the reviews of the products that I had never tried before:

Pacifica Beauty Haul Reviews

Pacifica Haul Reviews
Let the week of beauty reviews continue! I've been swamped with beauty products so I'm going to break up my reviews by brand. Up first, Pacifica! You may know this as my favorite vegan-friendly brand so was delighted when they kindly sent me some more products to try. Let's review, shall we?

Weekend Recap: Spring Cleaning

Sunday marked the first day of Spring (although it does NOT feel like it!) so I started to embark on spring cleaning. As you may have seen on Snapchat that included scrubbing my bathroom and updating my shower curtain. I've still been trying to follow along with the book "The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up" but it's taking me awhile. Still need to get to the other side of my apartment (aka the kitchen). I also needed to start planning for my trip. Starting planning out some outfits. Can't believe it's less than 2 weeks away!

Battle of the Concealers: Maybelline vs Make Up For Ever

Ever since I picked up Maybelline's Master Conceal I've been wanting to compare it to Make Up For Ever's HD concealer because to me they promise similar things and Maybelline essentially made a carbon copy of the packaging implying it's the drugstore dupe. Since I'm close to running out of my Master Glaze concealer, I finally splurged on Make Up For Ever's best-seller. So here are my thoughts:

Happy Birthday Sis!

East Coast meets West Coast

Wishing a very Happy Birthday to my sister, Keri of My Constant Chaos! We feel a lot of Irish pride in our family on this day. I've written several posts about how awesome of an older sister she is. She's raising three little cuties while being a full-time Leslie Knope (the only way I actually understand her job lol).

Weekend Recap: Kinky Boots & Getting Sick

This weekend I continued my quest to see more Broadway shows. My co-worker Daniel (or Damn Daniel as I like to call him) accompanied me to Kinky Boots. The crowd went crazy for Wayne Brady. No idea he had so many fans lol. I thought he did a great job with the role. I didn't really like the other lead, Charlie. It was a fun show with a great message but the story was a bit bland for me. Usually Act 1 ends with a bit of a cliff hanger but this one didn't and there wasn't this big obstacle to overcome. But the finale was amazing and brought the house down. Every Republican should watch it because they talk a lot about what makes a real man. Hint: it's not discussing your penis size on national television during a political debate.

My March Birchbox

This month's Birchbox was in celebration of Women’s History Month. "Celebrate with products that amplify your unique features (and help you take on the world)." Or perhaps feature products created by women? Just a though Birchbox. Here's what I received:

5 Best Shows Showcasing New York City

In my not so humble opinion, New York City is the greatest city in the world. They often say "New York City is another character" when a TV series or movie films in the city. And I agree! There's something about New York City that you can't replicate on a soundstage in Hollywood. I really don't know why shows try to keep doing it - it often takes me out of it since I can tell it's not real. But I digress... let's appreciate the shows that do shoot here and do a wonderful showcasing all the splendors of New York City. In no particular order:

My March Julep Maven Box

I also loved the quote in this month's box

This month's Julep Maven theme was Lighten Up. "Walking the line between seasons with a late winter berry and early spring pastels, these nail colors are the perfect companion to the latest eye makeup trend: bold, bright blue eyeliner!" First of all, blue eyeliner is not the "latest" trend... but back to the box. This month I was able to customize my box without the additional fee like they usually do. Here's what I picked:

Weekend Recap: Getting in Touch With My Artistic Side

It's been a stressful time at work. Between working late hours, trying to catch up on sleep and trying to maintain somewhat of a social life that hasn't left much time for the blog. Usually I leave the weekends for catching up on blogging stuff but now work has slowly crept into my weekends and I typically just want to tune everything out and relax my brain (and sleep in). Hopefully I'll find the balance soon. But anyways.... here's what I did get around to this weekend:

My February Beauty Product Favorites (And Not So Favorite)

This month we had a mix of freezing (literally negative degrees) and rainy spring weather. I needed facial scrubs, I needed extra moisture and I needed a hair routine for my new 'do. Here's what I loved and didn't love this month:
