My February Birchbox

This month's Birchbox was about looking great for all the occasions this month. "We all have times we want to look extra special - whether it's a four-star dinner with your best friends or your standing date night. This February is about helping you create your own not-quite-everyday looks..." Here's what I received:

PARLOR® by Jeff Chastain Detangling Leave-In Conditioner (1 fl oz/4.9 fl oz $24) | Naobay Oxygenating Cream Moisturizing (1 fl oz/1.7 fl oz $36) | Hey Honey Take It Off! Exfoliating Honey Peel Off Mask (.34 fl oz/1.7 fl oz $34) | ARROW REVIVE Cooling Cheek Tint in Berry Flush (.04 oz/.08 oz $18) | ModelCo Lip Enhancer Illusion Lip Liner (.02 oz/full-size $20)

I actually received this in a GLOSSYBOX two years ago.... (sips tea). "Its special composition based on high-quality plant extracts and organic vegetable oils, such as Rosehip oil and Sweet Almond oil, helps ideally balance the skin’s hydrolipidic film." I enjoyed it then and I enjoyed now but still don't think it's worth the price.

"It brightens dull skin and promotes a smooth, clear complexion with alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) that scrub away dead skin, reduce wrinkles, and improve the overall look and feel of skin." Honey is nature's astringent and when I had really bad skin issues a few years ago that's all I used on my face. I really enjoyed this mask as it is super gentle on skin and I have sensitive skin so these "exfoliating" masks can be a bit harsh. It says leave on for 15 minutes or until dry (depending on how thick of a layer you put on). I left it on for more like 20 minutes but my skin didn't feel irritated by it. I enjoyed the results but the downside was it wasn't easy to peel off for me. I prefer mask to wash off or are a sheet that I can take it off all at once. But definitely see the hype about this product.

This product claims to work with any lip shade... not sure I buy that. I wore it with a rosy lipstick and it worked nicely but I have to test it with a bright shade to see if it stands true. It "has been especially formulated with bees wax, carnauba wax, cocoa butter and shea butter to keep lips nourished, while the skin-coloured pigments naturally enhance the shape of your pout and suits any lipstick color."

ARROW is a new beauty line launched by Birchbox. Everything is vegan-friendly! I missed the launch event so was curious to try one of the products. "The breathable, oil-free gel formula allows it to seamlessly sink into skin—without clogging pores or streaking—for a natural-looking flush of color that lasts through every part of your day." It is almost like a gel to me. Very thick paste which is interesting. I did the smallest drop because I don't like a strong blush and this color is very rich. It was pretty but I don't wear blush very often so not sure how much I will use it AND not sure it's worth $18! Curious about the deodorant though since vegan-friendly deodorant is hard to come by.

Also wearing the cheek tint & lip pencil

This is a Birchbox exclusive. They apparently fell in love with the smell but I thought it was alright. "Sweet almond extract delivers softness, sleekness, and volume without added weight, while vitamin B5 keeps the scalp feeling healthy and nettle extract adds an extra bump of shine." I didn't find that it did all that much for my hair. I had teased my hair so definitely needed some detangling help but didn't get it. Definitely need moisture in my hair as it was recently negative degrees... didn't get it. I'll use it more for a heat protectant and it's travel-size so that helps.

What did you receive in your Birchbox this month?
