Best and Worst Dressed at the 73rd Annual Golden Globe Awards

Award season is here! Ricky Gervais was back to wreak havoc again at the Golden Globes. I have to say I was fairly underwhelmed by the dresses. There were of course beautiful looks and the young fashionistas showed up. However, no one was undeniably the best dressed there.

Best Dressed: The Jennifers. The Jennifers never disappoint. Jennifer Lopez was pretty covered up but still slayed in this mustard Giambattista Valli gown. Capes were also a popular trend on the red carpet. Jennifer Lawrence is a spokesperson for Dior so she always gets the most gorgeous gowns. This one had interesting inserts but because she has a beautiful body she pulled them off. I am sad she didn't wear the same gown as Amy Schumer though.

Fashionistas to watch on the carpet: Gina Rodriguez looked like a princess in this navy Zac Posen gown. She's blossoming into her own on the red carpet. She won two years ago for Jane the Virgin and now has become one to watch on the red carpet. Jamie Alexander took a fashion risk in this emerald dress and it paid off. She made a great first impression last year so bravo to her for keeping it going this year. Zendaya looked sophisticated in this Marchesa tiered gown.

Best Cut-Outs: A big trend on the carpet was cut-outs (i.e. showing off your sick body). Brie Larson wore a golden Calvin Klein cut-out gown. I feel like I've seen this look before but that body! Kate Hudson channeled her inner Spice Girl with this tube top/choker look from Michael Kors. Like J.Lo, I'm always down for Kate to show off her amazing figure. And Kirsten Dunst has not aged! She channeled her '90s goth in this strappy Valentino number.

Column Dresses: Emmy Rossum in Armani and Taraji P. Henson in Stella McCartney were stunning in this classic silhouette but both underwhelmed me. I hoped for more from these ladies! I'm also not a fan of posing with your purse on the red carpet.

Most Underwhelming: Natalie Dormer in J. Mendel and America Ferrara. I might be getting too soft in my red carpet round-ups. No one stood out as WORST but I was definitely underwhelmed by these ladies. Natalie looked straight out of her show Game of Thrones, which I'm not a fan of and she looked uncomfortable. And America's dress didn't fit her properly around the "ladies" and neck. It made it look cheap on her. J.Lo slayed the mustard look so it was hard to compete.

What were your picks for Best and Worst Dressed on the red carpet tonight?
