My December Birchbox

This month's Birchbox theme was All Wrapped Up. "This holiday, feel free to open one gift early - your December Birchbox. It's filled with beauty treats picked just for you, all wrapped up in a cozy-chic holiday pattern." Every month is like Christmas with my subscription boxes. The packaging was not your typical holiday colors - lime green, white, silver and pale blue. I liked the pattern on the box though - definitely will be re-purposing for a Christmas present! Here's what I received:

I'm always excited to receive a (MALIN + GOETZ) product in my Birchbox as I'm never disappointed. This mask is "a deep cleansing and exfoliating treatment perfect for oily or acne-prone skin. Formulated with refined kaolin clay to help absorb excess oil and draw out impurities, powder-like pumice to gently polish away dead skin, and witch hazel and arnica extract, known to be both anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial, this pore-minimizing 10 minute mask purifies and balances to improve clarity and texture for healthy-looking, radiant skin." I have sensitive skin that doesn't like to be scrubbed too much (that sounded gross...) so wasn't too thrilled to find out this mask had pumice in it. It says use 1-2x a week so I'll have to report back in my empties but after one try so far so good. My skin didn't get worse scrubbing it but I've been gentle on it ever since I used it.

"Inspired by the Provence region, it begins with subtle fruity layers and opens up to a floral bouquet of jasmine, orange flower, rose, violet and lily (all against a backdrop of powder musk, amber, and patchouli)." I liked her other fragrance in my Birchbox and hoarded several samples lol. This one definitely had a musk lingering smell and didn't last as long as the other one.

Redness is definitely something I try to relieve in my cheek area especially. Darphin is a brand I got introduced to through Birchbox in October and I wasn't super impressed for such a high price point. Apparently this is a best-seller. "This high potency, soothing serum helps reduce the appearance of redness and instantly quiet discomforts associated with irritated skin. This delightfully scented formula softens sensitive skin and leaves a comforted, more even-looking complexion." The sample was really tiny so I could only get a few uses out of it. I did notice results but I wouldn't spend $90 on it. Although there aren't many beauty products I'd spend that much money on lol. I still have derma e's Soothing Redness Reducing Serum to review.

This was a sampler of two eyeshadows of a larger eyeshadow palette so I don't know the color names. One is a very soft nude color (barely showed up when I swatched on my hand) and the other is a rosy, glittery color. This was the sample we got to select the color choices. Unfortunately, they sold out quickly so I was stuck with this one. The colors are nice but not my typical selection. I can wear the neutral on a daily basis.

Top: Alone // Bottom: With Mascara

Just as I ran out of my they're real! mascara, when this comes along in my Birchbox! It "tints, defines AND primes lashes! Worn alone, this innovative mink-brown mascara primer tints and defines for feathery, natural-looking lashes. Worn under mascara, it boosts length, lift and separation." I like that I can wear it alone or with mascara as I typically wear a dark brown mascara for daytime. It's pretty decent alone without mascara and has the same awesome brush as the they're real! mascara that helps define and lengthen lashes.

What did you receive in your Birchbox this month?
