Weekend Recap: Vegan Celebrations

I miss the days of Monday Morning Gossip and hearing all about your weekends. This week I celebrated being vegan for 2 years. I don't have an exact date where I said "Today I'm vegan!" lol it just started naturally (more on that here). The Meatball Shop had vegan "meat" balls this week only so I went with my brother who is a fan of the real thing as kind of a celebration of the momentous occasion. They weren't the best though. Womp womp.

Friday: I dyed my eyebrows blue because... I was bored lol. I've seen colored brows as a runway trend on Pinterest and wanted to see how it would look on me. Needless to say it was quite the conversation piece. I liked them and they've maintained through a few showers/face washing. I used my temporary hair dye from Garnier. I may be trying this again... perhaps a different color.

Saturday: My cousin, Joey, became a father for the first time. You may remember I threw a pirate themed baby shower for his girlfriend this summer. He's Joseph Jr. and his baby will be Joseph III. The only boy passing on my Grandparent's name, Davidson. So happy for him!

Sunday: My parents came in for a very belated birthday weekend. My sister got tickets for my Dad to visit the Museum of the American Gangster. It was interesting to hear the history of the building and we walked into the basement where they smuggled alcohol & money during the prohibition period. Kind of crazy to think that these Manhattan buildings used to be home to major crime rings. Oh history. Then we headed to John's of 12th Street Pizzeria for some Italian (vegan & non-vegan) food. A unicorn almost! Hard to find a place to agree upon with my father who eats nothing but Italian food. I, of course, over ate but not before enjoying my first vegan cannoli. AMAZE-BALLS! Definitely will be going back so thanks to my co-worker, Evan, for recommending it.

What did you do this weekend?
