This weekend was a lot of firsts for me. My first time in Long Island, my first time taking the LIRR, and my first time at a vineyard. Nicole invited me to her birthday wine tour in Long Island and I thought it would be a fun opportunity to do something I've never done before. I'm not a drinker so you wouldn't find me on a vineyard but I had a really great time.
Groupon for the North Folk Trolley, which is a 4 hour tour that takes you to three local Long Island wineries. Sounds like a long trip but it went by really fast. The first vineyard, Macari Vineyards, which is known for their "estate" wines meaning that they grow, pick and ferment the grapes all at their vineyard.
The next vineyard, Palmer Vineyards, looked so small and quaint on the outside but had gorgeous views in the back. This was everyone's favorite place as they all bought a bottle of wine! They had live music and a small food truck in the back. Definitely a great spot for relaxing and taking in the scenery.
The final stop was Baiting Hollow, which was bopping! It definitely was not the quaint little vineyard like the other two. There was bag check, there were buses pulling up pouring more and more people into the venue. They too had live music, as well as a small jewelry stand. But what I loved about this place is that they rescue horses so there were a few in the back barn. Wish we had more time there so we could go check them out.

Despite being the only sober person, I enjoyed myself. The views were beautiful and it was fun to ride in the trolley and see a part of New York I haven't seen before. Happy Birthday boo!
