Drugstore Beauty Reviews

Drugstore Beauty Reviews
I've been lagging on my beauty reviews but I only have one face so there's only so much I can review at a time. Some of these items I've had for awhile and have been meaning to try, others I've been using and been meaning to share my thoughts. Hopefully you find something useful. So let's get to it, shall we?

I say they're on the smaller side compared to other cleansing towelettes

Burt's Bees Peach & Willow Bark Exfoliating Facial Cleansing Towelettes $6 - I got these as one of my 30 gifts for 30 from my parents. I actually needed them that weekend as I ran out of my other cleansing wipes. They were exfoliating which made them a bit more tingly than others (or maybe it was the willow bark). Not my favorite, will not purchase.

If you couldn't tell... Left - Before/ Right - After

Revlon ColorStay Whipped™ Crème Makeup - I bought this on a whim at the drugstore when I saw it in the clearance section. Got it for a little under $8 and was looking for a new foundation. It looks similar to the one my Grandma uses (but not 100% positive). I purchased Ivory which perfectly blends into my skin; however, in the summer I'd like to add a little glow to fake a tan. So I added in Revlon's PhotoReady Skinlights™ Face Illuminator in Bare Light, which I've been meaning to review for several months but I'm enjoying it with the Revlon foundation. It adds just enough glow not to be overwhelming. The foundation does an excellent job creating a veil to hide flaws.

Sinful's Vivid a Try $3 - I can't resist a neon nail polish in the summer. This fiery orange is part of their 2015 neon collection. I've enjoyed other neon polishes from Sinful so picked this up. Not super impressed unfortunately. This is 3 coats and it's still pretty sheer.

Excuse my tired eyes at the bottom wanted to show the drying/clumping after a few hours of wear
Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara $8.99 - Another product I'm slow to review. I honestly have more mascaras than I can handle right now lol so I'm sure you've seen tons of reviews by now but adding my two cents. I liked the brush but not a fan of the formula. It dried up and began to smudge on me within just a few hours. Not sure if it's because I took a few months to review it (kept it wrapped up though) or if I got a bad bottle. May give another try since I usually have success with Maybelline mascaras.

L'Oreal Visible Lift ® Serum Absolute Advanced Age-Reversing Powder - Another item I purchased in the clearance section for 50% off. Apparently it's been discontinued? Since I had such a fail with the bareMinerals powder I was looking for another powder to just help when I get greasy. It caught my eye because it had Vitamin C. It creates this soft veil affect which I can see being beneficial for anti-aging but not quite what I want from a powder. It is on the paler side so I'll be using it more in the winter.

I've never purchased makeup in the clearance section before. If you have, let me know your experience. Is it there because it didn't sell or the makeup is expired? In this case, it was discontinued. I had good luck this go around but wondering about your experience was.

Lip Tint $2 - Another item I scored in the clearance section - $2 baby! No idea what the brand is (I tried searching Lip Tint) but if you do find it it's a good dupe for OCC's lip tar. I like the color, it is like an orange/coral and the formula is not too drying.

N.Y.C. New York Color City Proof 24 HR Waterproof Mascara $3 - Told you I had lots of mascaras! Received this mascara and was pretty excited since it's waterproof and my eyes are sensitive to non-waterproof. It promises 24 hour wear with no drying or clumping (but who needs mascara for 24 hours?!). It definitely didn't smudge or clump; however, I didn't wear it for 24 hours lol. I wasn't super impressed by any volumizing or lengthening aspects though. Didn't do much for me. Wouldn't purchase.
