Best & Worst Dressed at the 67th Emmy Awards

Tonight was the 67th Primetime Emmy Awards hosted by Andy Samberg (who I love!). He did an excellent job with this opening number. He also amazingly finished the show on time. A big trend was fitted sequin gowns with vampy beauty looks. Very refreshing on the red carpet from the heavy tulle princess gowns.

Best Dressed: Kerry Washington & Tatiana Maslany. I can always count on Kerry Washington to bring the fashion. Slay slay slay! Straight off the Marc Jacobs runway. Tatiana finally got her nomination for Orphan Black. Refreshing to see a suit on the red carpet... on a lady. It could be slightly altered but great look!

Usually stars stay away from yellow but tonight we saw all shades of the golden color and many looking great. Kierna Shipka (aka Sally Draper) took a risk in Dior and I love it. Emma Watson took a similar risk last year at the Golden Globes so it's great to see these young fashionistas taking risks. Taylor Schilling from OITNB looked whimsical in Stella McCartney. Reminded me of Michelle William's gorgeous moment on the carpet wearing a golden gown at the Oscars a few years ago. I actually liked the shorter length. It kept the dress fun. The color on Mindy Kaling was gorgeous but wasn't the biggest fan of this option. I liked her Creative Arts Emmys dress more.

All these ladies looked fierce in black. Taraji P. Henson slayed in Alexander Wang. She was my third best dressed. Loved the touch of edge with chain straps. Lady Gaga glammed it down and I'm all about these pop stars toning down their looks. The platinum blonde hair looks great against the black. Julie Bowen's Zac Posen gown had a modern asymmetrical neckline which kept the gown from being too boring.

Another big trend was vampy looks. Slicked hair, dark gowns, vampy makeup. All great inspiration for fall. Jaimie Alexander made her debut on the red carpet in Armani Prive. She's on the upcoming new show Blindspot. Looking forward to seeing more of her style on the red carpets. Aubrey Plaza looks va va voom. She looked gorgeous! Sarah Paulson also rocked the slick hair and looked gorgeous in this navy/black Prabal Gurung. She also rocked the slicked hair

Another big color trend on the red carpet was pink. It was in all shades from pale frosty pink to bright neon pink. I say Gina Rodriguez's gown is pale pink. She is stunning and can rock anything. She wasn't nominated (even though she won last year!) so this is a great presenter look. Emma Roberts went for '30s old glam Hollywood in this Jenny Packham dress. In photos it did wash her out but looked better on TV. Maisie Williams (aka Arya from GOT) was another young fashionista who brought it on the carpet. She's young so this super playful look is perfect. And Elisabeth Moss was on the complete other end of the spectrum in hot pink Oscar de la Renta.

Worst Dressed: Heidi Klum in yellow Versace. (Insert Big Bird joke here) & Laura Prepon. Without the top it would have been just fine.

Who were your picks for Best and Worst Dressed of the evening?
