My August Beauty Product Favorites (And Not So Favorite)

Another month, another list of favorites! Some of these you may already have seen me raving about on Instagram but others I've forgotten to share. Here's a round-up of the products I've enjoyed and not so much enjoyed using this month:

Vichy Capital Soleil Lightweight Foaming Lotion Sunscreen, SPF 50 $29 - I don't think I've mentioned this sunscreen before on the blog but this has been my skin savior during the summers. Even during the Yankees game where I sat directly in the sun for 3 hours and got no sunburn (which is a miracle for an Irish gal like myself!). It also includes hydrating hyaluronic acid and softening botanicals so it even moisturizes.

dermaE Purifying 2-in-1 Charcoal Mask $19.50 - I've tried quite a few dermaE products thanks to Birchbox. Received some full sized products that I'm enjoying including this clay mask. I tried a similar clay mask from bliss spa but it's $50. This is definitely a more affordable option. My skin was going though a breakout recently and I used this to get my deep clean to clean out impurities. It was definitely more sensitive than other scrubbing masks.

Elizabeth Arden Always Red Eau de Toilette Spray $69 - Elizabeth Arden's new fragrance that "opens with an irresistible blend of vibrant blood orange, luscious red plum and passion fruit.... textured heart of jasmine sambac, pink freesia and velvet rose petals evoke intense feminity and passion." I've had such luck with Elizabeth Arden fragrances and I love the packaging of this one. I also received Prada's Candy which is a good summer, fruity smell. I've been getting lots of compliments but it's not a scent I'd pick out for myself so I didn't list it as a favorite.
Drybar Detox Dry Shampoo For Brunettes $22 - Reviewed in my Sephora haul. Another downside I didn't mention is when you wash your hair, it will stain your white bath tub as well. Fun stuff.

St. Tropez Gradual Tan In-Shower Lotion $25 - Received a sample in my Birchbox this month. I followed the instructions and saw no results. Then I tried to apply before getting in the shower and washing it off... still nothing. Fail for me.

bareMinerals READY® Touch Up Veil in Translucent $23 - Got a sample in a Sephora haul. I usually love my bareMinerals products but did not have much success with this. "Translucent" was supposedly for fair skin but it felt like I applying white powder to my face. I also did not like the puff provided. It didn't dispense the product evenly on my skin. I much prefer my DHC BB Mineral Powder.

What products did you love or not love this month?
