Review: Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare™ Alpha Beta® Peel

After reading POPSUGAR's list of iconic beauty products to try I've been on a one woman mission to try the ones I haven't. First was the Dr. Jart+ BB Bounce Beauty Balm and this week is another doctor, Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare™Alpha Beta® Peel ($88 for 30 packets). It is apparently a cult favorite in the beauty industry so I had high hopes!

It is a a "patented two-step anti-aging facial peel that reduces fine lines and wrinkles, enlarged pores, fights blemishes and helps with dark spots and redness." It "combines refining Alpha Beta® Hydroxy Acids and wrinkle-reducing antioxidants -- including Retinol, Ubiquinone, and Resveratrol -- to smooth and enrich skin." It says it's for anyone but there are two formulas. I purchased the extra strength formula (unknowingly) and experienced some tingling. Nothing too unpleasant but I would try the original formula if you have sensitive skin like myself.

There really is no difference in the two pads but just showing you there were 2 steps

It promises to transform your skin in 3 days with only a 2 minute two-step process. It really is so simple. You simply wipe Step 1's pad in circulation motions over your clean, dry face and then wait 2 minutes and repeat with the Step 2 pad. I noticed a difference with the "radiance" of my skin and firmness. I even got compliments from my friends when I wasn't wearing makeup on how great my skin looked (so it wasn't just me who thought so lol). It felt like I had a fresh chemical peel at home. Didn't notice a difference in my pore size (as it promises to shrink them) but perhaps I need to do the treatment longer. However, with just 3 treatments I was highly impressed and totally get why this is a cult favorite now.

I received a deluxe sample in my Sephora order (which was 100 points) but they also have a 5 packet box available for just $16 to start out with which I highly recommend and is definitely a worthy investment.

Would I buy it again? Yes, but I would try the non-extra strength formula.

What new products have you tried recently?
