This month's Birchbox theme is Let's Do This! I loved the bright and festive packaging. "We're speeding full force into 2014 with a vow to make the most of every minute... samples that are going to help you start the year feeling and looking awesome." Here's what I received:
Number 4™Non Aerosol Hair Spray (1 fl oz/6.7 oz $30) | Harvey Prince Hello Liquid Loofah (.5 oz/12 oz $22) | Dr. Jart+ Premium Beauty Balm SPF 45+ (.2 fl oz/1.5 oz $39) | Essentiel Elements Wake-Up Rosemary Body Lotion (1.5 fl oz/8 oz $19) | Manna Kadar Lip Locked Priming Gloss Stain in All of Me (.01 oz/1.2 oz $24)
This shower gel is "infused with our best-selling Hello fragrance - a fragrant blend of Spanish Mandarin and Plumeria botanical extracts. That will nourish the skin and leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated." I read "exfoliating shower gel" as perhaps containing some beads to scrub off dead skin. Apparently it just means awakening. It is a decent body wash but I was just expecting something different. I liked the smell as I'm a fan of fruity smells.
Birchbox sure loves their Number 4 products. I feel like I get a product in every box. This spray claims to be non-sticky but I found it left my hair crispy even when spraying far away. I like that it's non aerosol and it has good hold but didn't like how my hair felt.
A primer and lip stain all in one and has "built-in primer but will also give you a matte finish. Contains vitamins A & E and berry extracts." I liked that it was a primer and stain in one but it definitely went more towards the gloss than stain to me. It went on smoothly and was more moisturizing than most glosses. However, the color is not for me. It was a darker color with a bit of purple to it. Not for me.
