My January Beauty Product Favorites (And Not So Favorite)

First month of the new year and I've got some great products to share with you. Some of these products I've been using longer than a month so now they are finally getting some love. This is probably my most expensive round-up but trust me all these products are worth investing in (or at least I think so). Here's what I've been enjoying this month:

Kérastase® Elixir Ultime Metamorph`oil $44 - My hair dresser recommended this to me and the results have been amazing! "Oil-infused gel-to-milk purifying pre-cleanse prepares the fiber for optimal shampoo and conditioner performance." Depending on how often you wash your hair, you should use it once a week (for frequent use) or every other wash (for less frequent use). You use it pre-shampoo to improve the quality of your wash. If your hair builds up greasy quickly or you notice it hasn't been receptive to the usual shampoo you use, then you try this. My hair feels like silk afterwards. Worth every penny.

Tata Harper Regenerating Cleanser $75 - I received a sample in a recent Sephora order and even with a sample I saw results (not a usual occurrence). "This gentle exfoliating cleansing treatment acts as a 4-in-1 product to thoroughly cleanse and improve glow while purifying, minimizing the appearance of pores and helping to protect the skin’s natural hydration balance. This cleanser clarifies with fresh enzymes, clays and essential oils, while microspherical beads polish the skin and reduce appearance of blackheads – all without stripping the skin of moisture." It is a little pricey so I may just hoard samples lol Definitely believe the hype on this one folks!

Nuxe Masque Crème Fraîche® de Beauté $32 - Say that 5 times fast. In the winter, I will try anything to help keep my skin moisturized. GLOSSYBOX sent us this face mask that is made "with Plant Milks and White Blossom provides intensive moisturization for even the driest of skin. A rescue treatment, it provides intensive relief, instantly soothing skin discomfort. Hydrates and soothes for 24 hours, leaving skin radiant." It does leave some residue on your face so you may want to wipe it off before going to bed but I'm really loving this mask. It is helping my face survive these cold temperatures.

Davines Replumping Hair Filler Superactive $39.50 - I received this in my December Birchbox but have been finally getting around to using it this month. I'm always excited to receive a Davines item in one of my boxes. They never let me down. I was a little skeptical about the "replumping" but it leaves my hair soft and smooth plus I like the smell. It's better than the Oi spray I received in my April Birchbox.

bliss multi-'face'-eted mask all-in-one anti-aging clay mask $50 -  Another sample that impressed me with just one try. "Spa-powered with smoothing quartz, 10% glycolic acid, nourishing jojoba oil and detoxifying carbon, multi-‘face’-eted helps smooth the appearance of lines, even skin’s tone and texture, soften, brighten, and even shrink the look of pores." They have a smaller sample for $15 that I am going to try (in case $50 was to hefty for you).

Herbal Essences Naked® Volume Collection - I received some products from Klout to sample and I have to say I wasn't impressed with any of it especially the dry shampoo. It left my hair very stiff and definitely didn't work after 2 days of not washing (i.e. heavy duty).

What products have you enjoyed this month?

  1. I liked your post a lot and my younger sister also agreed with your analysis as the time passes so you have to take some changes in your personality and atitiude to bear the realities of the real life.

  2. Surprising you didn't get on with the Herbal Essences products. I'm usually such a fan of them. I recently got myself Some Smashbox Primer and it's really good.

  3. I think the Herbal Essences moisture collection is much better than the volume one, but I agree about the dry shampoo. It works best on 2nd day hair. After that it didn't do much for me.

  4. @Alex I think I'll stick with my Suave dry shampoo :)
