To Try or To Not Try... Beauty Bucket List

Image via

POPSUGAR made a list of 87 iconic beauty products that you should cross off your beauty bucket list. There were definitely some products I haven't yet tried that intrigued me. There were plenty of familiar faces (for good and bad reasons). Since I had tried quite a few of the products, I thought I'd share my thoughts on whether you should cross them off your bucket list. In no particular order:

Lorac Front of the Line Pro Liquid Eyeliner $23 - Have not tried. If you have, share your thoughts in the comments below!

NIVEA® Creme $3 - YES! Carry one of these tins in my purse all the time.

Herbal Essences Smooth Collection Shampoo $5 - PASS. The time I tried Herbal Essences it completely dried out my hair. Unless they changed the formula, I will not be trying.

Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque $4 - YES! I dubbed this one of my beauty newbie must haves.

RMS Beauty Living Luminizer $38 - I've tried their "uncoverup" and really liked it. Now I'm intrigued to try this product. Update: One of my favorite highlighters for fair skin.

Kate Somerville ExfoliKate® Intensive Exfoliating Treatment $85 - Tried this in a Sample Society box and really liked it. Still think $85 is too steep.

Maybelline Great Lash Mascara $6 - PASS! One of my all-star over hyped beauty products.

WEN® Cleansing Conditioner $32 - Pass... depending on your hair type. It was too heavy for my hair but I know some natural hair/curly haired girls who love it.

Diptyque™Scented Candles $60 - Didn't expect to see a candle on this list. There is a huge fanbase for this brand. The price is a little steep so I've joked that when I'm a fabulous New Yorker that I'll fill my room with them lol.

Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula $7 - YES! A classic product that works wonders.

eos Organic Lip Balm $3 - YES! Another little goodie I keep handy in my purse.

L'Oréal Voluminous Original Mascara $6 - YES! My daytime mascara I swear by.

bareMinerals® Matte SPF 15 Foundation $28 - YES! My go-to foundation in the summer.

beautyblender® $20 - YES! Originally I could not get the hang of these sponges but after watching some YouTube tutorials, I'm in love. I'm still using the white one from my GLOSSYBOX last January. If you buy one, definitely invest in the cleanser as well.

L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream $12 - YES! Another must have in my purse. (I keep a lot of things in there lol)

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser $11 - YES! Great for all skin types. A product I always keep in my beauty cabinet.

Dr. Jart+ BB Bounce Beauty Balm $48 - To try. I have tried their BB cream and was really impressed. Let me know if you've tried this product and your thoughts! Update: Here's my review.

Ole Henriksen Truth Serum® $48 - YES! Award winner folks. I tried a sample in my GLOSSYBOX and loved it. Now whenever I can snag a sample in my Sephora order, I do!

Stila Lip Glaze $22 - YES! Flashing back to my college days lol. When I was a lip gloss girl I used this all the time. Passion Fruit was my color. Now I'm a fan of their lip stains.

Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray $26 - To try. I know girls go crazy for this for beach waves in the summertime. I was actually pretty impressed with Julep's Sea Salt Spray.

Klorane Dry Shampoo $20 - PASS! Another one of my "Don't Believe the Hype" all-stars.

Dove Body Wash $7- YES! Always keep in my shower.

Seche Vite Top Coat $10 - Over hyped.

COVERGIRL LashBlast Mascara $9 - YES! I've liked every version I've tried - Fusion, 24hr, and especially Bombshell Volume.

POND'S® Cold Cream Cleanser $4 - YES! Classic.

Dior's Diorshow Mascara $25 - PASS!

Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat $41 - PASS. Found a drugstore dupe that I love.

Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentrate $16 - Got this is in my Goop Birchbox (because of course) and didn't really get the hype. Perhaps I need to give it another go.

MAC Lipstick in Russian Red and Ruby Woo $16 - YES! Classic red that looks great on everyone.

Rosebud Perfume Co. Rosebud Salve $6 - Pass. If you like the smell of roses then go for it but I hated having that smell on my lips and fingers.

Chanel N°5 Fragrance $108 - PASS! Not a fan of this smell at all. The most grown up perfume I'm liking right now is Elizabeth Arden's UNTOLD.

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizer $26 - YES! A great product that works on all skin types (or at least that I've heard).

La Mer Crème de la Mer Moisturizing Cream $85 - On my list to try when I can afford it.

Mason Pearson Brush $190 - Another product I've heard such great things about but can't bring myself to pay for it. My Wet brush will have to do in the meantime.

Tweezerman tweezers $22 - YES! I have two pairs because you can mail in yours to get sharpened FOR FREE.

Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer $36 - YES! I really like this primer. Although I've heard some people having bad reactions to it.

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour® Cream $21 - YES! I was only recently introduced to this product and love it. I mostly use it on my cuticles but it has so many uses.

Koh Gen Do Makeup Remover $39 - YES! It's really called "spa water" but it's makeup remover. I tried a sample in my GLOSSYBOX and really liked how gentle it was. Not the best at removing eye makeup though.

Check out the full list and weigh in!

  1. I don't understand why a candle cost $60!! MMM no thanks. I still need to try the Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray it's been on my list forever but never gotten around to buying it...maybe now with my giftcard to Sephora I'll actually pick it up. Also Ponds Cold Creme is a total classic. I use it everyday to remove my make-up. I remember as a kid my mom using it. Never gets old.
