Drugstore Beauty Haul + Reviews

There have been several new drugstore beauty product launches I've had my eye on. I finally got around to purchasing some of them and thought I'd share my reviews in a quick round-up. So here we go...

COVERGIRL® Colorlicious Lip Lava in Live Love Lava $7.99 - A product that's been a buzz among beauty bloggers. These are a hybrid of a lip stain and a gloss. It "combines highly pigmented shades with iridescent pearls for saturated lip color with the high shine of lacquer." I opted for Live Love Lava which is a bright red although there are 10 shades to choose from (there weren't many in my drugstore at the time). Each has a bit of multi-dimensional glitter to them as you can see in the close-up shot. The staying power is amazing! I definitely prefer it when it dries up a bit since I'm not a lip gloss gal. It does stain so be careful where you get it but overall it's a quality product for a drugstore price.

L'OrĂ©al Voluminous® Butterfly Mascara in Black $8.99 - I like my lashes big and bold. After reading positive reviews on some of my favorite beauty blogs such as Elle Sees, I knew I had to try it. It features a "Butterfly Brush™" that is supposed to help extend your lashes. It definitely is an interesting brush but I think it gets the job done. One side worked for lengthening and twirling helped give the lashes some volume. It did more lengthening then volumizing for me but I can just layer it with another mascara for a bolder look. This is a keeper.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind® Eraser Dark Spot Concealer + Treatment in 210 Fair $9.99 - Dark spots are the bane of my existence. I'm always looking for a heavy duty concealer to help. This claimed to help erase them while also being a concealer - pretty sweet! The results are supposedly in 4 weeks so FYI I haven't been using it that long. I will update if I notice anything amazing but in the meantime it's a great concealer. The fuzzy applicator is interesting and not sure how much product gets lost in it but so far so good.

Maybelline® Brow Drama™ EYESTUDIO® Sculpting Brow Mascara in Deep Brown $7.99 - I'm all about the brows so when I spotted this product I knew I'd have to test it out. The brush features a large rounded ball shape which you're supposed to swipe upwards. I found the brush a bit too big for the application, which ended up a bit of a fail. However, upon cleaning it up and filling in with my bareMinerals® brow powder it worked. I wouldn't repurchase since I didn't notice anything amazing. I much prefer my blinc™ eyebrow mousse (even though it's $24).

Maybelline Master Conceal by Face Studio in 10 Fair $8.99 - I went on a Maybelline spree, can't you tell? Another concealer because I have to try all of them. With a name like "master conceal" - come on! It is a really thin liquid concealer that I found didn't last all day. It is trying to be a dupe to Laura Geller's Real Deal concealer ($22) but I say Laura Geller's is the bomb.com. It is a serious concealer that will last you all day. Definitely worth the investment. I won't be repurchasing.

  6. I'm curious about that L'oreal mascara now. The brush looks similar to the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara that I bought last month. Also, I've heard good things about that Maybelline concealer and I wanted to try it, but if I remember correctly, they don't have a lot of darker shades.

  9. Oooh that Maybelline corrector looks pretty good. Need to try it if I can find it in a matching shade. I have L'oreal's Skin Perfection cream and it's pretty good.
