Best and Worst Dressed at the 72nd Annual Golden Globes

Image via Facebook

Tonight I tuned into the Golden Globes to see my favorite gals, Tina Fey & Amy Poehler, host again! They came out strong with their jokes especially towards North Korea lol. But let's get to the fashion, shall we? Let's start with the good...

Best Dressed: Emma Stone & Lorde are tied for me both looking gorgeous in menswear looks. Love a woman who can pull off pants on the red carpet! But Lorde needs to work on her posing.

Bow Down Bitches: Kate Hudson in Versace, Amal Clooney in Dior and J.Lo in Zuhair Mora. Amal was a runner-up for Best Dressed - those gloves! These ladies know how to own a carpet and had fabulous trains.

A big trend on the carpet was interesting textures especially feathers. Julianne Moore in Givenchy and Gina Rodriguez (a big winner!) in Badgley Mischka both looked great. Anna Kendrick in Monique Lhuillier and Allison Williams both opted for princess dresses that are not in my particular taste. Claire Danes was my least favorite of this trend.

Battle of the redheads. You can't go wrong with Old Hollywood glam on the red carpet. Amy Adams never disappoints but I wasn't blown away by this Versace. The color is fabulous and will be big trend for 2015 so points for that! Jessica Chastain channeled her inner Jessica Rabbit in thisAtelier Versace

Metallics were another trend on the red carpet. The always fashionable Diane Krueger wore up and coming designer Emilia Wickstead while Kerry Washington went with bold color and texture and Reese Witherspoon played it safe in Calvin Klein.

Another trend I spotted on the red carpet was belts! I thought Kate Mara in Miu Miu pulled it off best. Naomi Watts is always chic in Gucci but this is not her best look. Salma Hayek was too much. There's a lot to look at with this look.

White is always refreshing on the red carpet. It gets me ready for spring! Julia Louis-Dreyfus looked gorgeous in a one-shoulder look which was also a popular trend. Emily Blunt was radiant in a grecian gown and bold turquoise jewelry. My least favorite was Kristen Wiig. I didn't think it was very flattering.

Another color trend on the red carpet was blush pink. Camilla Alves went for simple elegance. Maggie Gyllenhaal wore the designer of the evening, Miu Miu while Chrissy Tiegen stunned in Zuhair Mora. I loved her casual ponytail.

And now the bad...
Worst Dressed: Dakota Johnson in Chanel, Lena Dunham in Zac Posen, Jennifer Aniston in Yves Saint Laurent. I get the concept of wearing gray because she's the star of 50 Shades of Grey but this was her big red carpet premiere and it was a snooze. She made Chanel look cheap! We can always count on Lena to be quirky. I'm glad she at least learned how to walk in heels. Jennifer Aniston was also a snooze. Show up girl!

Who were your picks for Best and Worst Dressed?

  2. Yes totes agree with your best dressed and bow down picks. Emma Stone in that jumpsuit...WANT! Also only JLo can pull of a dress like that. Honestly need to find whatever magical fountain she is drinking from. I wished Claire Danes' dress fit her better. The top seem too big...I also didn't like Kerry Washington's dress, it felt way to stiff. Dakota Johnson looked like a old disco ball lol I think the top of my worst list would be Keira Knightley.

  3. I loved, loved, loved Emma Stone and Lorde's looks because they were so perfect for them. Zac Posen hates Lena Dunham (perhaps he read her book?) and I don't know why she doesn't know that yet. Overall, I loved Julianne Moore (she can look crazy at times) and Emily Blunt. Oh, and Keira Knightley was definitely on my worst-dressed list. The ruffles and the big ol' butterfly were too much.

  7. @Sherin haha yes. I like that she takes fashion risks (although Emma Watson did pants last year)

  8. @Jennifer Durham I didn't see Leslie Mann until the after party pics. She pulls off yellow nicely like Naomi Watts

  11. @heather haha it was a very JLo dress. Kerry Washington's dress definitely seemed tight and it should've been shorter to show more ankle. haha definitely bad disco. Surprised Chanel let her look like that or maybe they weren't involved in the dressing
