My September Beauty Product Favorites

Fall is finally upon us here in New York City and that means it's not only time to switch out your summer wardrobe but also your beauty products. Colder temperatures require a different type of skincare routine. Here were my favorite beauty products I tried this month:

MMG: Weekend of TV

Don't have much of a weekend lately as I work on a college football account (aka Saturdays are fully booked). Friday was pretty stressful at work so I did want to take the time to relax. Recharge my batteries if you will. So basically I caught up on TV. Saturday night Chris Pratt hosted the premiere of SNL. He was okay (he flubbed a few times) but I think we can all agree the stand out of the night was newcomer Pete Davidson. He's just 20! Ugh, what am I doing with my life?! Looking forward to seeing more from him.

Popbasic: Alice Collection

Another great Popbasic collection! It included a fitted black dress and gold accessories. They also revealed there were two full-sized beauty products. Why I love Popbasic is that each collection is gorgeous together but can be easily incorporated into your every day wardrobe. Alice was no exception. Here's how I styled it:

I Wore Sweatpants to Work

... and didn't get fired! lol I Actually got a lot of compliments on my outfit. I have been loving the trend of dressing up a pair of sweatpants (or as some stores call them "joggers"). Now that fall weather has arrived in New York City, it was the perfect opportunity to wear mine out. I found a great pair in the junior's section at Target. There are many options from low to high end. Ashley at Le Stylo Rouge found an adorable pair at Old Navy. This is definitely a trend you can wear, you just have to do it right.

Some of my tips:

Harper's BAZAAR x GLOSSYBOX

This month's GLOSSYBOX was in collaboration with Harper's BAZAAR. I loved the black and white box over the traditional pink GLOSSYBOX. Joyann King, the Digital Director, shared her favorite beauty finds. It featured some products that I'm already a fan of including benefit's They're Real mascara and OCC's lip tars.

3 Fall TV Shows I'm Looking Forward To

If you know me then you know I watch a lot of television. There's a lot of great TV out there! There's not much room in my rolodex of tv shows for new ones but these are the shows premiering this fall season that I'm giving a chance:

MMG: Crossing Off My To-Do List

This weekend was jam packed. Wanted to cross a lot off my to-do list and it was also in between my parent's birthdays. My dad is the 18th and my mom is the 24th so we celebrated this weekend. Saturday I got up bright and early to treat myself to a massage at Bliss Spa. I've been needing one for awhile. Sitting at a desk for 8 hours a day is hell on your body. Then I did some errands, homework and caught up on TV shows.

My September Julep Maven Box

This month's Julep Maven box screamed fall to me, which is fitting since it's just around the corner. It was called the Art Walk collection and featured the perfect fall colors: dark purples, reds, and grays. I opted for the Boho Glam box because I was excited for the lip crayon as well as some polish. Here's what was inside:

The Oldest Items in My Closet

Clothes come and go. I've had a bad habit of buying too much fast fashion so typically clothes go every season. I've tried to be more conscious when I shop and buy items I know will last me longer. And like most women, my weight has fluctuated over the years so I've had to get rid of beloved items because they no longer fit. Despite all that, I still have items that are several years old and wear quite frequently. It may surprise you that they are not all "investment pieces":

My September Birchbox

The theme of this month's Birchbox was Fresh Paint. "September means turning the page on summer, and diving into fall's colors, textures and inspiration." It is also Birchbox's 4 year anniversary. Here's what I received:

MMG: Where Have You Been?

Cue Rihanna song. Apologies for being a bad blogger and falling off the face of the Earth. Things got a wee bit stressful at work and I ended up getting my yearly head cold. Tuesday I stayed up until 1am for the Sons of Anarchy premiere (big mistake!), Wednesday I have a three hour class following work so Thursday I felt like hell. As soon as I got home from work I just went to bed. Took it easy this weekend and thankfully feeling better today. Promise regular blogging will resume this week. Tonight I''m celebrating my boo, Nicole's birthday as well as getting my job so it will be nice to glam up after a sucky weekend. But onto better things...

This week's Featured Blogger soaks up the sun in Florida but is a fellow Yankees fan :)

My August GLOSSYBOX

For this month's GLOSSYBOX, bloggers were sent 3 of the items in this month's box to create a night out look. I loved 2 out of the 3! GLOSSYBOX also celebrated their 3 year birthday and we received a little note from the CEO. Here's what was inside:

The Fashion Week That Wasn't

I had every intention of going to Fashion Week this season. I love going! But perhaps it was overly ambitious of me to think I could attend shows this season with working full-time now and being back in school. I enjoy seeing the street style and the new inspirations designers have drawn from for the season. I was envious of everyone's hyperlapse videos on Instagram. But the weekends are my only free time which I honestly would rather spend catching up on homework and errands. Going to Fashion Week is like having another full-time job and I just couldn't bring myself to do it when I knew I had so many other things I needed to cross of my to-do list before the work week started. It just took me by surprise and perhaps made me realize that my priorities are changing. #fashiongirlproblems

My #NYFW Mani

This week is New York Fashion Week so time to get your manicure on point. Since it will be spring shows marching down the runway I thought I'd do a spring inspired mani. I paired Essie's Bikini So Teeny with Sally Hansen's nail strips in Sweet Marble Floret. It put me in a spring mood!

#DatingGirl: Looking For Love In the City? Not So Fast...

For my latest 'Dating Girl' post I discuss the trials and tribulations of finding love in the city. Cities are great for dating but are they the best places to find long lasting love? I have some thoughts lol. Tell me yours!

My #NYFW Survival Kit

New York Fashion Week begins today! It's like back-to-school for the fashion industry. I have been attending since 2010 and have solidified a "survival kit" that I pack after making some mistakes in the beginning. Here are my recommendations for what you'll need to survive Fashion Week:

MMG: Summer Recap

Today is Labor Day which is the day that traditionally marks the end of summer. School picks back up again. Pumpkin Spice Lattes come to Starbucks (although they're already here - what?!). So since it's the unofficial end of summer, I thought I'd do a little recap of mine: We lost one of our family dogs Heidi but gained a new nephew Liam. Got to dig my toes into the sand at least once this summer. Met Leeann finally! Did a lot of YOLO things such as seeing Eminem in concert and after struggling all summer to find a job I thankfully landed a great gig working on sports (some thing I love - hooray!). I accomplished a DIY that's been on my list for awhile and rocked the crop top trend which I swore I wouldn't as well as the boxers look. It's the last year of my twenties and there's a lot I want to accomplish. A promise I made to myself in high school was that I would get myself to Paris by 30 (being a fashion girl it was always the dream). I have one year left to fulfill that promise and I'm hoping I get to.
