Birchbox x Women's Health Magazine

This month's Birchbox theme is Power Up in partnership with Women's Health magazine. "We've included samples to energize your routine, plus 12 Power Up Challenges that will inspire you to maximize your workouts, sleep and everything in between." According to the Sneak Peek video we were supposed to get a chance to select one of our samples. However, I did not get an email asking me to select. So that was a bummer. But anywhooo... here's what I received:

"Hello body crème is an irresistible blend of Sicilian Lemon, Spanish Mandarin and Plumeria botanical extracts leaving your body hydrated and smelling delicious." This body cream is hydrating but takes a long time to absorb into your skin.

Juice Beauty is one of the brands I look forward to in my Birchbox. When I can afford to spend a little more on beauty products, I'd definitely buy some of their products. R"educe the appearance of wrinkles with this ultra-light gel serum. Power packed with an optimum dose of our proprietary blend of fruit stem cells infused into a Vitamin C, resveratrol-rich grapeseed formula to boost and enhance skin tone and texture."

This was the sample you were supposed to choose between. I would have opted for nail polish anyways. "Ambrosia is a soft-yet-sleek metallic lavender." I like the color but don't think it's very summer-y.

It's called universal because supposedly this color works most shades. I am a dark brunette so it worked well for me... not sure how it would work well on a blonde.

Was pretty disappointed with this shower gel. It didn't lather on my loofa and I wasn't fond of the smell. Otherwise I enjoyed all the products in my box this month.

What did you receive in your Birchbox?

  3. That body cream looks divine! I ended up being able to choose my Ruffian color and went with a more silvery metallic but agree that it really isn't too summery. I'll probably wait until the fall/winter to try it out. Thanks for the detailed review - I always love comparing the different boxes other people receive vs. what's in mine!
