5 Bloggers Dish: Summer Beauty Must-Haves

My picks: Coconut Oil // Ponytails // Glowing skin // Radiant Orchid nails // Coral lips like Elizabeth Arden's Tropicoral

Today on Fashionista NY Girl I'm sharing my Must Try Summer Beauty Trends. I thought you might like to hear the opinions of others since so often you have to read mine lol. So I asked my fellow bloggers to share their beauty must haves for the summer. Hopefully you discover some new beauty products to try! Here's what they had to say:

Makeup Favorites

Leeann of Join the Gossip - My makeup tastes range from cheap drugstore finds, to pricer high end products. Whatever gets the job done right? Starting with the affordable is my go-to eyeshadow, COVERGIRL Eye Enhancers in Champagne. It's a perfect shimmery shade and sells for just over $3. Next up, at about $25, is tarte LipSurgence matte lip stain in fiery. I ALWAYS get complements when I wear it. It's the perfect deep red and legit stays on for hours. And rounding off my top three list is a quality foundation. Urban Decay Naked Skin sells for roughly $35, a bit pricey, but provides amazing lightweight coverage.
Laura of Blush & Beakers - When Kimberlee asked for some of my summer beauty picks, naturally I couldn't just pick three. I was able to at least narrow my choices down to five (technically four since the Evologie counts as one set). Evologie's Healthy Skin Set is a great option for us ladies with oily, acne-prone skin (which is always exacerbated due to the summer heat) that want a cleanser and treatment that won't dry out our skin while keeping pimples at bay (psst, I'm currently doing a giveaway here). Next I've been loving Coolway's True Smooth Spray because it makes blowdrying my natural hair a breeze and I can get stretched hair quicker without much heat. nails inc polish in Baker Street Blue is one of my all time favorite colors. It's so vibrant and electric whether on my toes or on my nails. Lastly, Lime Crime's Velvetine lipstick in Pink Velvet has been my summer pink so far. Love it!
Cheryl of Oh to Be A Muse - A few of my favorite beauty products are actually drugstore brands that you can easily find for under $10. I've been a huge fan of the Organix line, which has a variety of products for your hair whether you're natural or not. One of my favorites for summer is the Organix Nourishing Coconut Weightless Hydrating Oil Mist ($6-Target). The bamboo extract leaves your hair soft and healthy while still being lightweight. Plus it's small enough for you to take on your summer travels. Another top summer beauty product for me is the e.l.f. Studio Makeup Mist & Set Spray ($3-elf). I've actually been using this all spring, but it's great for carrying into summer because it keeps your cat eyes and bold lip in place with an all day invisible hold. The mist and set spray also moisturizes your skin with natural ingredients like aloe, green tea and cucumber. Finally, a fun way to feel like it's summertime is to add a bright color to your nails. My current obsession is the Wet N Wild Spoiled nail polish in Plastic Flamingo ($2-eBay). The nail brush and thickness allows you to get easy, glide-on coverage. Two quick coats is all you need with this formaldehyde-free polish.
Nicole of Style Me B.A.D. - During the summer I like to use lightweight products that keep me from getting shiny and I am all about SPF! These products are my absolute summer must-haves: 1. Ouidad Define & Shine Gel Cream - I like to keep my hair curly during the summer and this product is all I need to keep my curls looking great with no frizz and great hold. 2. Boscia Black Gel - I love to use gel moisturizers to combat shine especially during the summer and this one has a nice cooling effect that's feels good on your skin. 3. Maybelline Baby Lips Moisturizing Lip Balm - Protecting our lips from the sun is so important so I always have a Baby Lips balm with SPF20 on me at all times. I use it alone and under/over lipstick. 4. Dermalogica Skinperfect Primer - This primer has very quickly become my everyday go-to. I love that it has SPF30 and keeps me shine fee all day. This primer is also great for days when you don't want to wear any foundation, which happens a lot in the summer heat.
Nnenna of Star-Crossed Smile - In the summer (actually, make that in general), I'm all about a no-fuss makeup look. When it's so hot that I could fry an egg on the sidewalk and when it feels like the NYC humidity is melting my body, I don't feel like slapping on a ton of makeup, you know? That's why I like to keep things simple with mascara, a wash of color on my lips, and a bright nail polish. I bought Maybelline's The Falsies mascara a couple months ago and I love the fluttery lashes it gives me. I'm a #nailpolishaddict so my nails are never bare and I say the brighter the polish, the better, in the summer. I finally gave the not-so-new Sephora Formula X nail polishes a try. My first Formula X purchase is a hot pink/orange color called 'Here Comes the Sun' that just screams summer to me. I do think I look better with at least a little color on my lips and recently I picked up a $1 (!!) lipstick that I love. It's N.Y.C.'s Ultra Moist Lip Wear in Sheer Red and I love that I can swipe this across my lips a couple of times for a bit of color, or build it up if I want to. Also, it lives up to its name - it is moisturizing and feels wonderful on my lips!

What are your summer beauty must-haves?
