3 Summer Trends I Won't Be Wearing

The weather has warmed up most places so that means it's time to switch up the wardrobe and wear summer's hottest fashions. I've often said on this blog that trends tend to be a gray area in fashion. I love them because they help us spruce up our wardrobes but also despise them because some people try to take them right off the runway (and they're not practical). You don't have to wear all of them! If you've found ways to wear these trends, then good on ya but these are ones that won't be joining my closet:

1. M-slit skirts. The purpose of a maxi dress for me is to hide my unshaven legs lol so not sure why girls want big slits up them. I would also be afraid of sitting and how everything would look. No idea how Kendall Jenner sat down in this number.

2. Clogs/mules... whatever you want to call them. I think the least flattering part of a foot would be the heel. It's the hardest to maintain (i.e. rough skin) so why would you want to cover everything else and only expose that part? I'd rather show off my pedicure thank you very much. Style Me B.A.D. talked about "mules" which can be cute depending on the style.

This isn't Sparta ladies

3. Knee-high gladiators. Another shoe trend that makes me scratch my head. These are probably the least flattering style of shoe. They don't look good on anyone so I can't seem to understand why girls are wearing them. Why cage up your legs? Let them be free!

While we're on the subject, check out The Luxury Spot's summer staples.

What are your thoughts on these trends?

  1. Loved this post! And I agree I won't be trying any if these trends. The M-skirt is just too risque and the others are ugly. Lol

  4. @loudpen lol glad you agree. Saw girls on the subway with those M Slits trying to hide their thighs when they sat down. WHY WEAR IT THEN!?

  5. @Sherin right? I don't think it does any favors to a girl's leg.

  7. I agree with you on the double slit and the clogs/mules. I used to have a pair of clogs but I had to get rid of them. Just not that cute to me. And the double slit is sexy if you're going to a movie premier. But for regular life...not so much! But I have a pair of gladiator sandals and I love them for summer. But they're not for everyone.
