Review: jane iredale's Starter Kit

Makeup that can be helpful for your skin? Impossible! jane iredale touts itself as the skincare makeup line because they use high quality ingredients including vitamins and antioxidants that can help improve your skin. I recently had the opportunity to try jane iredale's Starter Kit (retail value $55) which is a great way to get introduced to the line. It is available in 5 shades. I received Light, which matched my fair skin. The kit includes:

Smooth Affair™ Facial Primer & Brightener has anti-aging properties that evens your skin tone, minimize the appearance of pores and increase luminosity. This primer is lightweight but has long lasting power. Really enjoyed using.

Amazing Base® Loose Mineral Powder is recommended to apply after the primer as it will help create a luminous look. It is also SPF 20.

PurePressed® Base Mineral Foundation is sheer, semi-matte and weightless mineral foundation that you can use at your preference. I enjoyed this powder but wasn't a fan of the brush included. I used my bareMinerals kabuki brush.

-  Top it off with their POMMISST™ Hydration Spray which has been reformulated and awarded ECOCERT’s Natural and Organic certification. Personally my favorite product of the kit. It is full of antioxidants that not only set your makeup but protect your skin.

I really enjoyed using this kit. It definitely showed me some new techniques of how to apply makeup. It is very sheer so if you're looking for full coverage then I would avoid. I think it is a great option for summer as the primer will help keep your makeup from sweating off and the mineral powders will soak up oils. Fighting acne? Here are some foods that can help!

Would you give this starter kit a try?

Disclosure: I received a free product for review as a Vogue influencer. All opinions expressed are my own.

  1. I will have to check this out. Looks great on you.
    Best, Mree

  2. I'm a professional makeup artist and I use Jane on myself and my clients! I absolutely love it! If you want more coverage their BB cream is amazing! I use it and dust the loose powder on top! Also if you use the pressed powder with a sponge it has superior coverage! I also love the pomist!

  3. Looks like a great kit to have. All of the pieces seem to complement each other well. Love how you did your make up!

  4. @Sherin yes you could use all the items together or separately

  5. @Lindsey oh awesome!! I definitely will use the powder with other foundation to help set it. Thanks for the tip :)
