April Beauty Product Favorites & Not So Favorite

This month has been a tricky one here in New York City. One weekend it's 70 degrees and beautiful then Tuesday it's snowing. Usually Spring is the time to put away your winter essentials and get out the self tanner. But not this spring. So this month's favorites include a mix of products that you could use in warm or cold weather.

DHC BB Mineral Powder $40 - Typically I reserve powders for spring/summer when they can soak up excess oils but I like this mineral powder to set my BB cream.
Give Mom—or yourself!—the gift of glamour with this brilliant, glossy gold compact. Women are born multi-taskers; shouldn’t we hold our makeup to the same standard? This microfine powder won’t settle in lines and wrinkles, plus it covers, brightens, helps control oil, makes your makeup last longer, and revitalizes with age-defying germanium.

benefit's big easy BB Cream $38 - I shared my thoughts on this BB Cream earlier in the month but now that I finished my sample I will be buying a full sized!

Liz Earle Instant Boost™ Skin Tonic $24.50 - I had the pleasure of meeting the global ambassador of Liz Earle during a Birchblogger breakfast. I'm really becoming a fan of this brand because they use natural ingredients and all their products are sensitive so they work on all skin types. This toner helps moisturize your skin before your routine or it can also help set makeup.

Cover FX SPF 30 Protection Primer $38 - I received this in my Spring FabFitFun box and immediately fell in love.

And for the not so favorite...
I've already discussed Jergens® BB Body Perfecting Skin Cream in "Don't Believe the Hype." Another lotion I'd add to that list is St. Ives® Fresh Hydration Lotion $7.69. It's a lotion you spray on that supposedly doesn't leave the greasy lotion feeling. However, it is so light that it didn't give any moisture to my skin. Might be good to spray on while at the beach for a fresh burst to your skin but not to last all day.

Neutrogena® Healthy Skin® Primer $12.99 - This primer promises to "instantly even and brighten skin with optical modifiers that help minimize the look of imperfections all day. It contains Natural Soy, a proven tone correcting ingredient, that helps to even the look of skin for 8 hours with or without makeup." It is a lot of things my skin would need but it didn't live up to the promises.

What products have you enjoyed using this month?

  5. Is Big Easy really that good? I'm still obsessed with Benefit's Porefessional, so might give this one a shot too. I'm using Gosh's CC cream this month and really like it. Oh and HealGel's face cream is amazing.

  7. I had a feeling that spray lotion was going to have the end result. Such a bummer because the concept is great!

  8. Wait, is it still snowing in NY?! It's super hot in SoCal right now and the Santa Ana winds have caused a big fire near me. It's just gross outside!

I used a self tanner once like 15 years ago (when they weren't as good as they are now) and it was horrible so I've been afraid to try any more products since haha.
