My March Birchbox

This month's Birchbox theme is Spring Forward. "We'll show you how to get more out of everything, from helping your products last longer to time-saving hair tricks. Prepare yourself - it's going to be a great spring!" And as Birchbox let me know... it's my 34th Birchbox! I decided to change my beauty profile to see if I get new products and I did. Here's what was inside:

"This refreshing cleanser has peppermint leaf extract to boost circulation in the scalp, stimulating healthy hair growth. The formula causes a delightful cooling sensation on the scalp. Macadamia nut nourishes weak hair for touchable softness and shine, while silk protein works to strengthen strands and repair damage. Even better, this formula comes to you free of mineral oil, silicon, ethanolamine, and parabens." I really enjoyed this shampoo and like that it uses natural ingredients. Just might buy a full sized product through Birchbox when I'm done.

I've used Vasanti Cosmetics before but never their skincare products. According to the site it "brightens with powerful papaya enzymes to give radiance, exfoliates with dermatologist grade micro-crystals and gently cleanses with aloe vera, coconut and panthenol." I found this product difficult to wash off. There are other similar skincare products on the market that have yielded better results in my opinion.

I've tried COOLA products before thanks to Birchbox and really enjoyed them so was excited to see another product from them. This is a do-it-all products great for the summer: "Offering broad-spectrum UVA/UVB plus environmental protection, this lightly tinted, unscented formula gives skin an immediate line-smoothing finish. Made with organic Rose Hip Oil, rich in free radical fighting Vitamin C; and organic calming Evening Primrose, delivering abundant Omega-3 and Gamma-Linolenic Acid to improve elasticity and help skin retain moisture. Organic Shea Butter smoothes and hydrates while the phyto-protector Plankton Extract rejuvenates skin." I really liked this product! I think if you have oily skin you'll love it even more. It evened out my skintone and was lightweight. It is one color so if you're a light to medium shade then it will work for you.

A new brand to me but glad they're cruelty free. The cleanser claims to "deliver deep refreshing cleansing without irritation or abrasion. Circular polyethylene granules in a cream base efficiently exfoliate pore-clogging oils and cellular debris while killing bacteria." While the lotion is a "hydrating and silky light lotion formulated with antioxidants to purify and tone the skin without oil." I liked both products but the samples were only big enough for one use.

This is dubbed the Swiss Army Knife of beauty products. "This multi-purpose skin healer is 100% natural and acts as a skin protectant and lip balm in one. With it's nourishing blend of nature's most potent emollients, it soothes on contact." It says it's good for lips but it doesn't particularly taste good so I've just been using it on my cuticles.

This month Birchbox offered us the opportunity to add-on a nail polish duo from LAQA & Co. Since I'm a nail polish addict of course I obliged. This color is "Lovely Jubley" layered over Ginger+Liz's "He's So Into Me" so you could see it (it was very opaque).

What did you receive in your Birchbox this month?

  1. I might need to try that balm. I love a good all-over beauty balm, especially now with this forever winter we have been having. It was 28 degrees today when I went to class.

  2. I feel like all of these products would've been perfect for my cruise! I actually took some of that COOLA with me, although I didn't actually use it.

  3. @jointhegossip that's why I love sample boxes... use them for travel!

  4. @thefatandskinny I like Egyptian magic (although I wouldn't put it on my lips). I feel ya on the dry winter though :/
