My January Birchbox

This month's Birchbox theme is Go Time in honor of the New Year. "Forget giving things up - in 2014, we're taking on more: more things to try, to conquer, to integrate into our lives. New products - in the form of this month's samples - are just the beginning." Here's what I received:

Fekkai Brilliant Glossing Shampoo & Conditioner (2 fl oz/8 oz $20) | INIKA Mineral Eyeshadow in Eternal Marine (.04 oz $20) | Nail Rock Glitter Dust - Blue (3 fl oz $6.99) | Reviver Dry Deodorant Wipe (one reusable wipe/pack of 6 $17.99) | Birchbox Extra: Inspirational cards

I'm a fan of Fekkai products but have found that their glossing products weigh down my hair. This formula was lighter on my hair but I wasn't super impressed with the results. My hair wasn't any shinier or smooth after using these products. I definitely could find similar or better results with a drugstore brand like Suave.

"INIKA eyeshadows are rich in pigment providing vibrant and opulent colors that last all day. Eternal Marine - One of our top 3 best selling eyeshadows." I can see why it's a best seller. It's a gorgeous shade that would flatter any eye color. Hope I find an occasion to wear it!

Had no idea this type of product existed! It's the world's first dry deodorant for clothes. "Reviver is a revolutionary odor-neutralizing swipe that lets you instantly and discreetly eliminate unwanted aromas that cling to clothes and hair. Like breath mints for clothing..." The original scent was like a fresh deodorant smell. I liked using the product but not sure how much I'd use it on a daily basis. Hopefully I don't smell that bad lol.

This nail art glitter looks like it is supposed to create the 'sand' look that many nail polish companies have come up with. My nails art currently painted so I didn't test it. Probably will pass along so let me know if you're interested.

What did you receive in your Birchbox this month?

  3. Looks like a decent box. It's good you got glitter because I saw one with velvet and I think that look is just so unhygenic hahah

  4. Oh gosh the clothing/hair deodorizer is kind of a hoot! But I could actually see myself using something like that after leaving a mexican restaurant (or Subway--please tell me I'm not the only one who notices a horrible bread scent that lingers all day long after being in there for even just a second). The nail rock looks interesting--but I'm just not a huge fan of the textured polishes on myself. I love the way the look--can't stand the way they feel! Ha!
