My Favorite Pre-Fall Collections

The pre-fall collections are out and I'm swooning. Fall is definitely my favorite fashion season. Some trends I noticed were: blanket coats, dropped waists, gaucho pants, wellie-style thigh high boots, fur, menswear and leather. Here are my thoughts on my favorite collections thus far:

Chloe - I'm loving the dramatic coats and unique hemlines. Not particularly a fan of the chunky shoes or wellie styled boots (not pictured) but the hair and makeup were fresh and something I can definitely wear.

Stella McCartney - She said she was influenced by her older sister who was heavy into the London punk scene. You could see influences with the houndstooth and plaid. I love Stella's style because it's clean, minimalist but very modern. I enjoyed the menswear looks.

Prabal Gurung - Prabal says that his customers want “femininity with a bite” and I think he delivers. There were a lot of great daytime looks as well as evening. I like the structure yet whimsy of the looks. Wasn't particularly a fan of the shoes (3rd photo) in bootie form though.

  1. Chloe looks AMAZING! I'll have to come back later and read your review of Her as I'm still planning on seeing it soon.

By the way, I'm now in the early stages of season 6 of SOA. Although I'm still madly in love with the show, I'm really looking forward to a change in the way things are done. It's getting a bit too predictable. Nothing good ever happens anymore it seems.

  2. The Chloe shoes drive me crazy, but I'd take one (or all) of their coats with a quickness. Stella McCartney is one of my all-time least favorite designers (I don't know why, but her stuff is just always ugly to me) and this collection is no different. And I love Prabal Garung's use of print and color. I think his is my favorite of the three.

  4. I've been slacking on keeping up with the shows. I did check out some of the couture shows and Chanel and the fanny packs are killing me and not in a good way lol

  5. Beautiful pics! I especially love the outfits on the far left of the second and third picture. I could see myself wearing both of those outfits.
