My November Birchbox

This month's Birchbox was about "abundance in all forms. More thanks, more giving, more thoughtfulness, more samples, and of course more pumpkin pie and stuffing." I hear that! Here's what I received:

Beauty Protector Protect & Shampoo (full size $21.95) and Protect & Condition (full size $21.95) | Dr. Jart+ Water Fuse Beauty Balm SPF 25+ (.17 fl oz/1.7 fl oz $32) | Color Club® On The Rocks (.25 fl oz/.5 fl oz $8) | Juicy Couture Viva la Juicy Noir (.05 fl oz/1.7 oz $70) | Birchbox Find: Ghirardelli Toffee Crunch

Left: Shampoo (can you see the pearl shimmer?) / Right: Conditioner
Beauty Protector apparently created these products after Birchbox fans raved about their Detangle Spray featured in the February box so these are an exclusive early launch. It's made with "pearl powder, which is rich in conchiolin, an ingredient that acts like the hair protein keratin. This fortifying ingredient teams up with other nutrients that guard against and heal the effects of heat styling (think frizz and destroyed ends)." The shampoo had a pretty shimmer to it and did a good job cleaning my scalp. The conditioner is also made with honey pearl powder and other natural ingredients like shea butter and apple, lemon, and orange extracts. "Together, they hydrate and nourish hair with vitamins and minerals." Not sure if I didn't leave it in long enough but it didn't do anything for my dry ends. My hair felt very coarse rather than silky smooth.

"A moisturizer, sunscreen, and treatment serum, this all-in-one product also hides imperfections. Made with 50%, Dr. Jart's Advanced Water Bead Technology helps hydrate and maintain healthy moisture for a dewy, fresh look." I never heard of a product like this but think it's perfect for the winter, which can be so drying on the skin. Luckily the ONE shade it comes in is super pale so it blended with my skin nicely.

From their Cocktail Hour Collection, it's described as a metallic silver. It has the "chrome" look that I like. Sidenote: I did notice on the product card "full size" but the bottle I received was not .5 fl oz.

It's been awhile since I received a Juicy Couture perfume sample so bravo to Birchbox. But after Elizabeth Arden's UNTOLD, Juicy Couture perfumes just smell so awful to me.

Something I can never have too much of - chocolate! Especially Ghirardelli chocolate.

They also included their holiday catalog highlighting items available at the Birchbox Shop. All month long Birchbox will be donating a portion of the proceeds from their Birchbox Shop to No Kid Hungry, a nationwide organization that works to end childhood hunger.

What did you get in your Birchbox this month?

  1. I feel like of all the people who have tried it the pieces have always been way over what i would spend on any one item. I wish they were more affordable pieces. We don't all have caviar budgets! ;)

  2. Looks like a nice box! My sister loves the Dr. Jart BB Cream. Oh and also, Birchbox normally puts "full size" on the cards to say what the full price is for sample items that aren't sold in the smaller size, at least from what I've noticed!

  9. @Curvatude oh good point... I know there's Gwynie Bee now that is like a Stitch Fix but for plus-sized. It's a shame "plus size" have to have their own box :/
