My October Birchbox

The them of this month's Birchbox is Beauty Buzz. "This month's box is devoted to award winners, celeb favorites, up-and-comers - and all the other products we can't stop talking about." Here's what I received:

This was one of the featured products in the Birchbox reveal and supposedly a very beloved product. "Our plant-based cleanser, active ingredients include eucalyptus and cocoa butter, has a two-phase action. Phase one is the cleansing. Free from mineral oil, it has a rich and creamy texture and swiftly removes all traces of face and eye make up, even stubborn mascara. Phase two is the polishing. Polish off the cream using the pure muslin cloth to gently dislodge dead skin cells and help reveal clean, soft and radiant skin." I enjoyed using the muslin cloth, very soft and washed everything. It says it's safe to use for makeup (like on your eyes) so I'll have to try that next time!
I'm a fan of POP Beauty's nail polishes so was interested to try something from their makeup collection although I'm not a lip gloss fan. "This refreshing water-light luxe gloss will bathe your lips in hydration and protect with Vitamin E. We also added Jojoba oil, an exceptional moisturizer for maximum lip comfort." The color I received was described as a sheer hot pink. I'm a hot pink fan but I think it's more of a color for spring/summer. I wasn't a fan of the spatula applicator either.

This was the smallest sample ever - I almost lost it! I received skintone 3 which according to the website is for light golden skintones like Jessica Alba. I'm no Jessica Alba. I would definitely be skintone 1 or Nicole Kidman & Cate Blanchett. I do like that the website gives you some celebrity suggestions to compare your skintone with though. According to the website "our foundation looks so natural, all people will notice is your beautiful, glowing complexion. Weightless on the skin, this oil-free yet hydrating formula provides medium coverage with a satin finish - all while delivering 12+ hours of Frutta di Vita™ antioxidant protection." I would have liked to have tried it in my skintone because it seems like a great product.

This ChapStick was a "Birchbox Find" i.e. randomness. I used to be a ChapStick girl but it would make me breakout around my mouth (eww I know) and my lips never felt moisturized. Aquaphor is my lip addiction now. But I do like the smell of the Vanilla Creme.

What did you get in your Birchbox this month?

  1. Great box, but that foundation color was random! Can't wait to try the Liz Earle... assuming it's in my box of course, because it still hasn't arrived!

  2. Looks like a decent box, besides the foundation shade...I feel like they shouldn't sample foundation if it's not going to be your color! I tried the Liz Earle a few years ago, it's pretty nice!

  6. @ElleSees.blogspot.com lol they really don't! Except Influenster did ask ahead of time about the Olay BB Cream which we preferred and thankfully the light color was a great match!
