Nolcha Fashion Week Recap

*Thanks to Matilde New York for covering for me this season!

All designers at the Nolcha Fashion Week show that I attended, showed really nice styles, and some great clothes I definitely would like to wear myself. Claire Farwell London showed some very nice and feminine dresses, and she walked on the catwalk herself, which I think was very cool! Some other amazing dresses in bright colors were shown by Magdalena Adriane Toth.

The 29-year-old Zimbabwean fashion designer Maita Marimo had designed a very stylish collection too. I think her clothes looked perfect for work, but with a cool touch that would make them great for after-work and nice dinners too. My favorite here was the black see-through top – simple but still unique and cool!
Another designer who also showed some nice dresses, however more casual ones, was Stacie May. She also had some nice jackets and skirts in her collection.

Felicia Persuad, who is the designer behind the brand Bela Criacao, had some beautiful styles too. For Spring 2014, she was inspired by the sights, sounds and culture of South America coupled with a love for the pace and intensity of the modern woman’s lifestyle. Both Felicia Persuad and Tess Johnson (below) showed clothes in more light colors such as beige, white, and gray, and then also some beige and black.
Hence, I think the whole Nolcha Fashion week event was so nice to attend, definitely the best during fashion week for me! The shows were very cool and professional, and it was also nice to check out the sponsors, such as Rusk, Biovéa, GrandeLASH, American Airlines, SmartWater, etc., and their goodie bags. The crowd was nice as well, and I think it was extra fun that some celebrities, for example Kelly Rutherford, were there too! Also, the after parties, brunch/fashion lounge, were some extra things around the actual fashion shows that also contributed to a great event.

Which collection did you like best?
