Quick Beauty Reviews: Organic Edition

Organic Beauty Reviews
Confession: I've fallen behind on my beauty reviews. I do try to keep up with them so please forgive me when I do tend to fall behind. I thought to rectify the situation that I'd do a few quick reviews of some brands that I've been introduced to recently. They all also happen to be wonderful organic companies.

nyl Skincare. I purchased this starter kit on Fab. It includes their Organic Whipped Hand & Body LotionVelvet Transformative SerumGentle Sugar Body Polish, and Organic Rosewater Face Wash. Their products are all natural, vegan, cruelty/chemical/gluten-free and made with organic ingredients. My favorite products were probably the Rosewater Face Wash and serum. The face wash is not what you usually expect. The consistency is more like water but they say that's because they don't use additives. Rosewater is a mild astringent and I used it while I was having a bad breakout. It was gentle enough to help clean out my pores while not being overly harsh. The serum really does make your skin feel velvety smooth. It's very light and doesn't clog your pores. Great for putting on at night to lock in moisture.

Salt and Water HandmadeI purchased the Foaming Sugar Polish on Zaarly for $10. All the products are handmade locally in Brooklyn so no two items are the same. Their products are palm oil free, contain no phthalates and are not tested on animals. The sugar polish is unique in that it's like putty and can be molded to be used like solid soap or can be crumbled and used like a scrub. The foaming sugar polish is made with organic fine white sugar, added Calendula Oil and scented with Ylang Ylang essential Oil. It smells wonderful and was gentle in scrubbing my skin in the shower. You get 8 oz of product for $10 which is a great deal especially for an organic product.

Joyful Bath Co. I had the pleasure of meeting Rochel, the CEO, at HBA this year. We received a sample of their Oatsy Floatsie ® relaxing bath soap, which is made with fine oats and lavender. Fine oats hydrate and heal the skin while lavender quiets and lulls the mind. This was a great soap that definitely felt like I got a deep clean in my skin and smelled great. I'm a big time bath girl so I'm definitely interested in trying some of their bath salts.
