My CVS Beauty Haul + Reviews

I don't know about you but whenever I'm in the beauty section I tend to go overboard and always leave with more items then I intended on buying. About a week ago I shared with you my CVS beauty haul, which was a perfect example. Went into the store to buy one item and left with 8 (including 2 nail polishes which were not necessary lol). Thankfully I'm a Beauty Club member so I save money every time I shop with ExtraBucks Rewards. For every $50 spent on qualifying beauty products, I earn $5 in ExtraBucks Rewards to spend on any item in the store. I love trying new products so I've been busy testing them all out. Here's what I picked up:

I already shared my thoughts about their nail polish corrector pen and showed off my fabulous Essie mani. They had a really great Essie selection including their nail wraps that I had to hold myself back on.

What I enjoyed:
I really enjoyed the Nuance Salma Hayek products I've used in the past so wanted to try another product from her line. I picked up this hydrating balm because I'm a lip product addict and it is multi-purpose. You can put it on your lips, cuticles, on scars/burns, etc.
I love Aveeno products including these cleansing pads which have a scrubbing side and cleansing side. It's gentle enough not to irritate my sensitive skin but also does feel like it's getting all the dirt out of my pores.

The misses:
Bottom L: Lower lash brash / Bottom R: Upper lash brush

When it comes to mascaras, Maybelline is always my go to especially dramatic lashes. They just released this new Volum' Express Falsies that has upper and lower lash brushes. I don't usually like to put mascara on my lower lashes since I think it highlights my dark circles and wrinkles. I was really underwhelmed by this mascara, which surprised me since I have the Falsies original and love it. It didn't give my lashes the usually volume I expect from this kind of mascara.

I told you I had more BB Creams to review! I've heard really good things about Revlon's PhotoReady one and I love their PhotoReady mousse foundation because it has a really light shade that matches perfectly with my fair skin. I was sadly pretty disappointed by this product. It is nothing like the mousse foundation and barely gives any coverage or evening of skin tone. Another downside is that it only comes in 3 shades: Light, Light/Medium and Medium. It is definitely a pale girl's BB cream.

What beauty products have you purchased lately?

  1. I hate when mascara falls short. It's in the in-between price range, so enough that it makes me mad when I wasted my money haha!

  3. I love that you said the BB Cream is a pale girls cream...LOL! So I will def avoid it! And when is there ever a bad time to buy polish. I seriously think I have every color ever made so now I talk myself out of buying anymore.

  4. Good to know about BB Cream! I've had my eye on a few brands but haven't been able to pull the trigger and pick on yet...just too skeptical of the coverage. Now I know! Maybe I'll try it when I need a new light coverage product for the face, but for now, my Mac tint is doing just fine :).

  6. @stylemebad.com there's plenty more where that came from! lol

Yeah I love the balm, it adds a hint of color while also moisturizing. Not sure what type of texture you like your balms but I love it!

  7. @Amy Green well if you're looking for reviews... I have quite a few on my blog hehe If you want heavy coverage then I recommend more Asian brands like Dr. Jart+ and I also like Smashbox. Most of the American drugstore brands are just tinted moisturizers.
