My June Julep Maven Box

Bravo to Julep for every month creating a lustworthy collection of nail polishes and beauty products. Boo from my wallet which takes a hit every month (lol)! This month's collection was called "Nantucket Nostalgia" and had some beautiful summer shades. This month's box was also the launch of the long-awaited first ever DD DD Crème. The June Julep Maven box I selected Boho Glam. Here's what came inside my box:

- 2 nail polishes ($14 each)
- Julep DD Crème $28
- Extra: Salt Water Taffy

Had a bit of a mess with this one...

Lexie is described as a "dandelion yellow crème" that reminds me a lot of Zoya's Pippa. I didn't like the formula of this polish... as you can see it got goopy.

Dianna is a sea foam color that's really pretty.
There's been a big buzz about BB and CC creams... well now apparently there are DD Crèmes. According to Julep it combine the flawless coverage of a BB cream with the complexion-boosting properties of a CC cream. It's designed to moisturize, prime, perfect, and protect, our multifunctional formula also offers anti-aging benefits. I was really disappointed by the amount of product in my bottle and how dark the "Light" color was. I ended up mixing it with a light moisturizer I have to actually be able to wear it.
I also added on their Double Duty Makeup Brush to go with the DD Crème. I really wanted to get the concealer as well but it was too much. This brush has two stackable brushes—a large tapered brush for streak-free foundation application and a flat concealer brush. I never had a makeup applicator brush like this and I really liked it. I suggest wetting the brush and adding dabs of makeup where you want to apply then blending in.

What did you get in your Julep Maven box this month?

  1. Good review! I opted out of this months box. I wasn't too excited about the nail polish shades and I had a horrendous experience with adult acne a few years ago and now that I'm under the treatment of a dermatologist I am very very picky about what goes on my face. I like Dianna though. Very pretty.

  2. Call me crazy, but I feel like you got these colors before?! Lol And I cant believe there is such a thing as DD cream now! So did you like it even though it was too dark? Did you notice a difference?

  3. I have been curious about this new DD cream! I would love to give it a try. And yeah, that light shade looks more like a medium.
