Brand Review: Nuance by Salma Hayek

At the Getting Gorgeous event I won a bag full of hair products which included some of Salma Hayek's line Nuance, which is sold exclusively through CVS. Salma says the line was "inspired by my grandmother, my products are designed to help every woman enhance the nuances that define her individual beauty." The line includes makeup, skincare, body washes and hair care products. I was really surprised to find out that all the products were not tested on animals and were paraben free.

The Texturizing Sea Salt Spray ($12.99) contains seaweed and algae extracts. I found it very lightweight and smelled good. I sprayed it on my hair wet and scrunched it. Definitely helped with my "beach waves" look (Stay tuned for a post on that).
I wasn't too impressed with the Lift & Shine Volumizing Mousse ($9.99). It claims the "Conditioning Complex moisturizes each hair fiber for intense shine. Polymer adds body, volume and structure to limp hair and also helps protect against frizz and damage from heat styling. Humectants add ultimate style control for all-day hold." I didn't know a lot of volume after using but I have straight, medium hair so that's hard to do without teasing and hairspray. Speaking of hairspray...

Style & Finish Firm Hold Hairspray ($9.99) is made with Polymer Complex, Color-Lock Technology and Vitamin B5. Weightless, fine-mist formula for strong, humidity-resistant all-day style control. It smells good but definitely left my hair crispy.
Blackcurrant Intense Hydration Hair Mask ($9.99) with papaya fruit extract and wheat protein. Blackcurrant and papaya fruit extract help replenish essential nutrients to moisturize dry or over-processed hair, enhance silkiness and add shine. Wheat and amaranth proteins promote healthy, hydrated, strong hair, preventing split ends and fly-aways. Definitely my favorite product of the bunch. Left my hair super soft, moisturized and looking healthy.

  1. I didn't realize she had a line of beauty care out! The mask definitely sounds like the most promising product. Nice new look on your site!
