Why Buy When You Can Rent With

If you're in college or grad school (like I am) then you understand the pain of high textbook costs. So when reached out about offering me a free rental of a textbook, I jumped at the opportunity. These are just some of the perks you enjoy when you use their site:
- Save 40-90% off of bookstore prices
- Free shipping both ways
- Flexible renting periods (ranging from 55 to 120 days)
- They donate to Operation Smile with each textbook rented

I'm starting summer courses next week and one of the books required for my Competitive Strategy course is "Strategic Market Management." On the NYU website it was nearly $100 and Amazon has it for $65 new. On I was able to rent it for 85 days for $48.24 (including taxes). The 85 days covered the full semester that I would need the book.

They also just launched a new initiative - RentBack. RentBack allows students to rent the textbooks they own to other students. You can make back 2-4x more money compared to through other buyback options. I'm definitely considering this once I'm done with this textbook at the end of the semester.

Have you ever rented a textbook?

Disclosure: I received a free book rental for review. All opinions expressed are my own.
