My April Birchbox

After waiting what seemed like forever, my April Birchbox arrived. This month they teamed up with Women's Health magazine who "put together a collection of their favorite products, which are all designed to help you fine-tune your lifestyle." Hence the theme: tiny tweaks, big results. Here's what I received:

I decided to wait a few days to post so I could try out all the products more than once. Here are my thoughts:

I'm not light to medium shade so I was a little afraid to try this CC cream. I know CC (Color Correcting) creams are the new big thing since BB creams. According to their website "Mica minerals bind together to create a strong, sheer cream, reflecting light away from creases that seem to instantly disappear. Omega-3 and Omega-6 are essential fatty acids that improve skin moisture and overall skin health while reducing inflammation." It's free of oxybenzone, parabens, and fragrances. The color was a little dark on me but I liked how it evened out my skintone but wasn't too heavy like most foundations.

Who knew your hair needed anti-aging products? This elixir is a lightweight leave-in treatment that helps rebuild hair’s strength by reducing breakage while making hair look more youthful and vibrant  in just 7 days (or so the site claims). I could barely get one use of this serum (I have long hair). It was very hard to get out of the bottle. Thick and goopy but it does smell good though!

"Powerful-Strength" is an understatement I felt the affects of this Kiehl's concentrate as soon as I applied. It's very warm when you first apply to your skin but eventually it calms down. It's formulated with a 10.5% Pure Vitamin C which gives your skin a boost with anti-oxidant protection. It is clinically-demonstrated to improve overall skin texture, tone and radiance while reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles. I've used it for a few nights and so far I like it. Not sure I can attest to the reducing of fine lines with such a small sample though.

I've heard great things about J.R. Watkins's hand & cuticle salve. I love their body mist! Their salves are "formulated with a premium beeswax base and natural oils that moisturize, nourish and revitalize hardworking hands." This product is 99.5% natural. The lavender smells great and is relaxing to put on before going to bed. Haven't seen any wonderful improvements with my cuticles though (what I was hoping for).
And for the only full-sized sample in the box. This eye roll-on "helps reduce puffiness and wake up and revitalize tired eyes by instantly cooling and gently massaging the delicate eye area. Plus it's formulated with cucumber extract and our purest possible skin loving ingredients with an added vitamin." It's hypoallergenic, noncomedogenic and safe for contact lens wearers. The metal ball seems a little rough for such sensitive and thin skin around the eye area. It's very cold when you apply, which definitely wakes up your eyes. I do love Simple products though.

What did you get in your Birchbox this month?
