Weekend Recap: Spring Break!

I'm officially on spring break. Don't get too excited for me though because unlike in college, spring break in grad school is no vacation. This weekend I hunkered down since I have boat loads of reading to do and a take home midterm paper to write.

Currently it's March Madness, so Friday night I watched a few of the games. Can we discuss these ugly uniforms  I also was up late enough to watch "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" (which almost never happens) and was treated to History of Rap Part 4 to end out Timberweek.

Saturday I avoided all the hooligans after the St. Patrick's Day parade and caught up on things I needed to do. Also, caught up on my Netflix. Watched 2 amazing movies but both very different genres: How to Survive a Plague and Wreck-it Ralph. HTSAP is an Oscar-nominated film about the AIDS epidemic. I have watched several films about this topic but this is by far the best and most informative. I had no idea that activists played a major role in writing the legislature around AIDS/HIV. Warning: You are going to cry. After watching such a profound movie, I was happy to lighten the mood with Wreck-it Ralph. King Candy was my favorite and his army of treats: Oreos and Devil Dogs. One of the better kid's films (that also had great adult sense of humor) I've seen since Despicable Me.

Sunday it was my sister's birthday but she lives in Cali so couldn't really celebrate with her. And my gift was late -- frustrating! I also ran a few errands. Turned in 2 bags of clothes to H&M for their recycle program and got 15% off. Desperately needed a new pillow so hit up Bed, Bath & Beyond but then it was back to basketball and reading. Also, tuned into the season finale of Girls and I'm glad to be taking a break from Hannah's nervous break down. It seemed to breeze through a lot of issues so I may need to re-watch since I felt like nothing happened.

What did you do this weekend?

  1. Yeah, my college team is outfitted by Adidas and they (thank God) will not be wearing those fug uniforms in the tournament. Just awful.

  3. I think the only thing i got from the season finale was seeing the degree to which Adam cares about Hannah. And i seriously hope that whatever happens, Hannah doesnt destroy that man.

  4. Boo to not getting any downtime on your break, but yay for getting caught up?

Basketball is one of the only spots I don't watch. You'd think I'd be into it because of the Lakers, but not so much :/
Loved Timberweek though. I taped it every night!

    Thanks for linking up!
