NOVIS Women's Fall/Winter 2013 Presentation

On Thursday, Novis made its New York Fashion Week debut at Eyebeam studios. The collection is designed by Jordana Warmflash. Jordana launched NOVIS in 2012, which celebrates her whimsical and irreverent approach to elegance and is named after her grandmother. I loved the presentation as it had all the models in cube-like stage. A lot of the clothes were definitely my style with a modern take on sophistication but also a bit playful.

I love the blue jumpsuit!

For Fall/Winter 2013 Novis takes inspiration from the classically elegant photographs of American photographer Richard Avedon from the 1950's and 60's. The influence of these timeless images is evident in the clean lines and whimsical nature of the collection. A neutral color palette is accented with pops of ruby and sapphire, along with notes of playful leopard and cityscape prints. She used luxurious fabrics such as velvets, wool herringbone, gingham, and mohair often trimmed with leather accents. A playful sense of femininity successfully merges with a graceful sensibility this season to further establish Novis' irreverent approach to sophistication.

The blue velvet was my absolute favorite
Hello leopard!

I was glad I was able to view this new collection as I thought it was very young and hip. Definitely items I would buy and want to incorporate in my wardrobe especially that velvet pantsuit - I DIE!

What did you think of collection?
