My December Beauty Product Favorites

Another month has come to an end so it's time to share the products that I've loved using this month!

Alterna Bamboo Shine Shampoo & Conditioner ($20 each) - I tried a sample of this shampoo/conditioner and was thoroughly impressed. My hair was not only clean, it looked shiny and had more bounce. Both are sulfate and paraben free. Definitely need to get my hands on more ASAP!

K√©rastase Nutritive Nectar Thermique ($18) - I received two samples in my December Birchbox. My hair is typically not a fan of leave-in conditioners as they are really heavy and weigh it down. However, this K√©rastase product did not but it still moisturized my hair. I tried it with two different shampoos and still my hair had similar results: smooth and soft for days without looking greasy.
stila all over shimmer liquid luminizer ($20) - I received "Pink Shimmer" in my November Birchbox. I've used the original which was only available in gold. Now stila has 4 more colors: Pink Shimmer, Bronze Shimmer, Kitten Shimmer and Rose Gold Shimmer to help match different skin tones. I use it as a highlighter to reflect light around my eyes on top of my concealer. I love this pale pink color; it works beautifully with my pale skin.

Lipsi Cosmetics Aphrodite Powder ($20) - I received this in my Beauty Army Kit and really enjoy using it to set my makeup. I like that it matches my skin tone rather than being white so it blends better. It keeps my makeup on all day and sort of acts like bareminerals Mineral Veil in that I've even worn it just with some concealer.
Skin&Co Roma Truffle Serum: Hydro-Toning Day Face Serum ($36) - I received this in my November GLOSSYBOX and enjoyed using day and night. It sealed in moisture to help boost the power of my usual moisturizer. Now that I'm out, my skin feels like a desert.

Benefit Cosmetics It's Potent! Eye Benefit Cream ($32) - I received a sample in my December Birchbox and I'm still using it. Although it's gentle on my skin, I've seen results with the dark circles under my eyes (or I'm getting better sleep).

Egyptian Magic ($37.20) - I received samples in my Beauty Army Kit and have been dying to try this cult beauty favorite. Now I know what all the fuss is about! I wasn't able to locate it in my drugstores so I ordered a full size through Beauty Army. It's a little pricey but the jar is supposed to last. It looks like wax but you warm it up in your hands and then becomes more of an oil. It does wonders for my dry, winter skin!

What products have you enjoyed using this month?

  4. I've been relying heavily on balms this month, as the weather's been freezing and dry, and the indoor heat doesn't help either! My favourite all-purpose product is a balm from Swedish brand Oriflame, called Tender Care, it's something similar to Elizabeth Arden's Eight Hour Cream. I also got a new conditioner from L'Oreal Professionel that I just love, it leaves my hair soft and glossy and smells lovely.
