Mani of the Week: Border Nails

A big trend in nail art is border nails right now. I've been wanting to try it but knew it would require a lot of patience. I did a search on YouTube and there were lots of different methods. I made my own version using Aquaphor around my nails and drawing the border by hand. I used the 2 Essie colors that I thought would go together for Thanksgiving: hunter green and gold - both Klout perks!

What I used: Aquaphor (Vaseline also works) | Essie Stylenomics | Essie Good as Gold

First I painted my nails with the base color.

I then applied Aquaphor around my nail so that any polish that went over would peel off and when you paint a border by hand, this is definitely needed.

I then traced around my nail with the gold color.

It wasn't the cleanest method but I'm sure I'll get better at it the more I try.

What's on your nails this week?
