My September Sample Society Box

I'm still working my way through my beauty boxes this month. Last but certainly not least is Beauty Bar's Sample Society. In each month they include a $15 beauty code which lasts up to 60 days on ANY brand (not just product) featured in your boxes. I just used my $15 beauty code to order the full size sample of Arcona's Cranberry Toner that I loved in my August box. Let's see what I got in this month's box:

CellCeauticals Extremely Gentle Skin Cleanser (2 fl oz/6.7 fl oz $35) | AHAVA Time to Clear Purifying Mud Mask (.9 oz/4.3 oz $31) | Diptyque Eau de Toilette Natural Spray in Doson (.06 fl oz/1.7 fl oz $88) | Borghese B Gloss Lip Gloss in Fiore (.16 fl oz/.21 fl oz $19) | Stila Cosmetics Smudge Crayon Waterproof Eye Color in Smoke (.4 oz/full size $22)

This is a one-step cleanser that effectively removes daily impurities and eye makeup without irritating eyes or stripping skin of essential moisture. Wheat Amino Acids provide skin moisture and soothing properties and Glycerin provides skin moisture. I didn't try it with makeup but it definitely didn't irritate my skin. But nothing blew me out of the water.

I love me a face mask! This deep cleansing beauty mask purifies and restores skin and contains purifying qualities that clear the skin of excess oils, root out grime and blackheads, and prevents the formation of blemishes with Jojoba oil. It says leave on for 2 minuts then rinse. Definitely follow instructions because it starts to burn. But definitely enjoyed the mask, it felt like it got down the nitty gritty.

This long-wearing formula contains Vitamins A and E moisturizes and Avocado Oil, Jojoba Oil and Aloe Vera soothe lips. The color definitely fits into my deep cherry craving for fall, but thought the lip gloss was too sticky and didn't like the sponge tip applicator.

Probably my favorite product of the box! I love me some Stila products and this product seems fun (looks like a crayon!). It's a 3-in-1 gel-based eye primer, shadow and liner that is supposed to last 6+ hours. Vitamin E protects and conditions, while aloe soothes and supports healthy skin which is good for me since my eyes are pretty sensitive to eye makeup. The color is super gorgeous.
Allure editors also include some tips and I always learn something new. One section was about "How to Bring Out Your Eye Color." For blue eyes they recommend using "copper and gold shadows... to emphasize the gold halo that surrounds the pupil." I feel like gold shadows walk a fine line of tacky and classy. I'm always weary about using them. The last section was one I really liked because it featured advice every girl should follow - "3 Really Good Reasons to Wash Your Face at Night."
  1. Not washing your face seriously age you. Wearing makeup all day traps damaging free radicals which over time cause wrinkles.
  2. Face wash can actually improve your skin. Dermatologists attest that the ingredients in cleansers can give you better complexion like glycerin. Salicylic acid is an exfoliant, which helps unclog pores.
  3. Even your low-impact workout could lead to zits. Most women who do "light" workouts such as yoga or Pilates aren't washing their face right away because they don't feel the sweat as much. Pretty soon the acne on your face (and body) will show you otherwise.

What did you get in your Sample Society box this month?

  1. Your beauty boxes look great. I've been trying to use more toner lately since I've been working out more--such a good point to get clean right after working out--it's so easy to just keep going and run a few errands, but I will try and remember to clean up first!

  3. I love the Stila color! This is a really good box. I've been trying to decide if I should go for Glossybox, but Sample Society looks good too.

    1. Sample Society is $15 vs Glossybox's $21. Also with Sample Society you get a $15 discount code on any brand (not just product) in your box which I love plus BeautyBar.com ships for free in Manhattan!
