5 Benefits of Vitamin C For Your Skin

We all hear beauty tips and secrets but one of the best just might be in your vitamins. Did you know that Vitamin C keeps skin healthy and reduces wrinkles? You can help keep your skin healthy and supple making sure you get enough of this super vitamin! Here are 5 benefits:

1. Vitamin C is key to the production of collagen. Vitamin C a.k.a ascorbic acid is a protein that aids in the growth of cells and blood vessels that give skin its firmness and strength.

2. Vitamin C helps your skin repair itself. Your skin has incredible elasticity and Vitamin C can help create scar tissue and ligaments for a quick recovery.

3. Vitamin C is an antioxidant that slows the rate of free-radical damage. For those who don't know, free radicals are not fun. They are unstable molecules that damage your skin causing dryness, fine lines and wrinkles!

4. Vitamin C can reverse DNA damage. New research shows that ascorbic acid 2-phosphate, a derivative of Vitamin C, not only only neutralizes free radicals but reverses the damage.

5. Vitamin C may also reduce sunburn. Research suggests that Vitamin C may reduce sunburn caused by exposure to ultraviolet B radiation and prevent the consequences of long-term sun exposure, which can lead to skin cancer. This doesn't mean Vitamin C is a replacement for your trusty sunblock!

Eye Radiance: I loved the gold sparkle in this eye serum.

Concentrated Serum: This is great to apply skin right after you step out of the shower before applying your daily lotion to seal in moisture.

All Day Cream: I like my face creams with some SPF to help protect my fair skin.

Hydrating Cleanser: Enjoyed using but would have liked an exfoliator product in the kit to go along with this cleanser.

Body Cream: Nice and silky - used it with the concentrated serum.

Body Scrub: My favorite product in the kit. Left my skin feeling super soft!

  1. nice! yay for vitamin c. i'm studying to be a nurse and in the process a few semesters ago i took a class on nutrition. my professor is convinced that the reasons why we are aware of the many, many benefits of vitamin c in comparison to some others is on account of biochemist (and nobel peace prize winner), linus pauling. apparently, at his behest, a huge amount of funding has gone into researching vitamin c. for this reason, she suspects that the reason why we are so aware of its benefits, and perhaps not so much for other vitamins, is partly due to his influence. i think a lot of research is going into other micronutrients these days and i'm not sure if her hunch is true but it is interesting none the less!

  3. I'm kind of vitamin c obsessed. I usually have about 2-3 glasses of juice a day.
    This brand seems amazing. Seems like they're great products! Would you recommend the eye radiance? I'm looking for the perfect eye cream!

    1. I found it a little irritating. I unfortunately have sensitive skin and none of the anti-aging creams have been pleasant. I enjoy just plain ol' Vitamin E cream

  4. Oh thanks for sharing this! I'm always on the lookout for great skincare that is a reasonable price and somewhat natural. AND I'm always looking for day creams withOUT sunscreen since I'm allergic! (I use mineral makeup as a sunscreen!)

This is why we have to be very aware of the foods we consume every day, being health conscious is not just eating all the healthy foods we know but being knowledgeable about the nutrients of the foods we consume regularly. Good to know that there are cheap vitamin supplements available in the drugstores and even online stores however I suggest that you have to consult to your doctor for the best vitamin supplements for you.
