Review: Maybelline's Dream Nude Airfoam Foundation

Maybelline has released a new foundation which claims to be lightweight because it is air infused. It contains SPF 16 (random number), doesn't clog pores and is allergy tested. I purchased the lightest shade - 110 Porcelain Ivory - because that's what I usually have to do. It costs around $10 for 1.6 oz.

Before application it suggest to shake the bottle well because the first few squeezes aren't going to contain the foundation. It reminded me of some at-home tanning products I've tried.

A lot of product comes out in just one squeeze. It looks like a cream puff! Even though it was the lightest shade, I still found it too dark for my skin tone.
Pros:
  • Does feel lightweight on your skin
  • Lasted all night (with a primer)
Cons:
  • It's hard to control the amount that comes out of the bottle
  • Not a lot of variety in the shades so it was a little dark for my skin
Would I buy it again? If they came out with a lighter shade then yes.

Have you tried this foundation? What are your thoughts?

  2. I've been wondering about this and now I kinda want to try it. It looks like it gave you a pretty natural looking coverage and evened out your already gorgeous skin perfectly.

  3. Just bought this and I totally agree!! It's kind of streaky and not the best I have tried!! Kind of disappointing after $10.00 down the drain...

    1. Did you try it with a primer? I found it best to apply with your hand. I'm going to make it work when I can "tan" in the summer but during my pale winter phase, it's not my go-to

  4. Hmmm, I'm not a foundation wearer, but I have heard good things about this one. It actually suits your skin really well. I find it impossible to get foundations that match my skin tone.

    1. Perhaps you'll have to mix? But you have great skin already so I'd hold off on foundation!

  5. Thanks for sharing this review! I've been interested in these air foam foundations lately- particularly Revlon's photo-ready airbrush one. I'd agree with one of the comments above- your skin looks great without make-up! And I agree with you too, that make-up colour is probably too dark for you- I'm a fair skinned girl too so I'm guessing it would be too dark for me too!

    1. I've read really good things about PhotoFinish but I just didn't think I needed something that heavy. Yeah I was surprised how dark it came out for being "porcelain" and thank you for the lovely comments ;)

  6. I have never tried this product. I have sensitive skin so I am always worrying about new foundations. Great review. I am really fair so I have a feeling this wouldn't work on my skin either.

    1. What foundation do you use for your sensitive skin? I find that I mostly stick to tinted moisturizers and leave the foundation for night time

  7. hmm... i think your skin looks better without it, honestly! you are beautiful!
thank you for the review. i was thinking about buying this stuff the other day but i have ridiculously light skin so it won't work for me. i blogged awhile ago about lorac natural performance makeup and i think it might work well for you for a slightly heavier coverage. i have trouble finding a foundation that is light enough for me and this stuff actually works.
